Occasionally i find and keep odd relics like this found out on the woods. There's something interesting about how recognizable it still is while barely clinging to existence at all. Some of thetop photos from my performance/photo series "emergency shelter" which i did back in February. I salvaged this fabric from the walls of a multi million dollar estate in whitefish bay. In my job i frequently get to see inside high dollar homes in the milwaukee area, and i also frequently drive through some of the most downtrodden areas on the way to and from these jobs. As i removed these decorative fabric panels i reflected on the disparity that i witness everyday, and about how much money it cost to install and remove these frivolous pieces of fabric from this home.
