As I’ve fallen deep into the rabbit hole that is tumblr, I never actually introduced myself as I am new here. Hello, I’m Mawr Blaidd Drwg. I grew up reading Dragon Ball manga and watching all of the anime and Vegebul is my long loved OTP. During 2020 Covid lockdown I had the time to devote rewatching everything and got sucked back into my favorite couple and series. I became active on AO3 and have several stories. After a hiatus for a bit I have been more active over the last year. Here are some of my stories:

What does "mawr" mean? I can understand "blaidd drwg" is "bad wolf" but don't know the first word. Please define it.

Hi! It means big or large. So essentially my name is big bad wolf. I had a tumblr 100 years ago when I was deep in the Doctor Who fandom (Bad Wolf) and this was my username so I kept it when I made a new one. 😊

I can't believe it's been a year since I started writing Dragon Ball fanfiction. Getting back into a fandom that I was last into when I was just a kid was not the plan. But last year, I found myself laid out with pneumonia and grieving the sudden loss of my cousin, who was raised as my little brother.

I longed for the days when things were simpler. Days when we used to watch Dragon Ball Z movies together on laser disks. We were just babies. I didn't want to think about the reality that was now -- a much grimmer and more stoic world without him.

I started by inhaling all of the Dragon Ball Super manga online. I didn't even know they had continued the anime/manga after Z. It was a delight. It was an escape.

Next, I dove headfirst into AO3 for more stories -- 99% focused on vegebul, which was my favorite ship as a kid. I read so many captivating stories from some really incredible authors. It was inspiring to say the least.

Somewhere along the way, I had the great fortune of meeting said authors through discord and fangirled so hard I ended up attempting to write some DB fics through their encouragement. I am by no means a prolific fictional writer, but it was really fun, and I am so grateful for the amazing friendships developed as a result.

It's now been a year since I started writing intermittently , and I just wanted to thank everyone who has ever encouraged me to write in this fandom, extended their friendship to me, made me fanart, or even simply left a kudos or comment. Your kindness and efforts have brought me joy during a difficult time.

"Driving Miss Bulma" event turned into making Vegeta a private pilot.

I often think about how conversations and emotions went when Vegeta was given over to Freeza’s service. I imagine that the monarchy had to present it one way to little Vegeta himself and the planet at large while privately realizing what kind of monster Freeza was. Maybe they didn’t care so much about the planet conquering, but they wouldn't, deep down, want their son and heir to be enslaved and humiliated (and potentially experimented on or worse).

This is also an illustration for my most recent fic update. I did a sketch a couple years ago and completed it!
