hi. i think this is it for me on this website. admittedly, i have been putting this off for YEARS because while i haven't got my head in the game for quite a bit, i still held on regardless. anyways i will continue to write but in other forms that have been postponed.

it was fun. met cool people.

i normally dont make these posts because I write when I want, but i thought to pop in before I go off grid, so to speak.

i will officially be working on my OWN stories that have been left pending that ain't gonna be fleshed out or written themselves. idk if you will see a return from me and if you do, it wont be on this blog.

Sketching along as I watch! Happy birthday Naruto 😭😭😭 Started watching Naruto all over again, and I would like to say I'm really enjoying it so far. (Well I'm only at episode 5 as of right now cuz I don't have a lot of time, but still, it's been awesome! Nostalgia is a powerful thing) I've been meaning to binge the show for a while, since all my knowledge of Naruto is from my incredibly hazy memory from childhood, the (amazing) wiki and the fanfics?? Oh the fanfics- I feel like an imposter sometimes, to be frank. Probably am?? 🤔 Didn't pay attention since the chunin exam in sand. Would like for that to change.

These seven (yes seven) are my studies from chapter 1 and episode 1. (Coincidentally just in time for Naruto's birthday?? I guess I did try to crunch it in a bit) It's nice to try a different rendering style once in a while - even though these are really rough and messy haha! Lighting really changes the mood man, I love light.

About Naruto, Iruka, and their dynamic in the first episode - I cried a bit watching them again for the first time in years. Might be the nostalgia acting up, but I love them so much?? A clear and simple relationship, but incredibly effective and relatable - am I kissing ass?? Dunno, I'm just a sucker for this particular type of bond between characters. I don't think Iruka appear much in the show later, but imma enjoy it while it lasts.

I never wrote well. I mean, I did. The imagery and symbolism were beautifully described, but it was a convoluted mess that went nowhere. It would hit a wall, killing its momentum. I think I've changed that. I am a better writer.

I've learned that despite how much you like an idea, you gotta let some die, so your story and your narrative ride their highs and lows cleverly, connect dots and overcome obstacles and, then finally, you cross the finish line. Otherwise, your stories are best described as 'just full of potential' and not 'thoroughly well written stories.'

I just remembered that I own the purple trunk where Buffy kept her girly things (crucifix, knifes, guns, stakes, holy water, etc)

When the show finished, they were selling the set furniture at my local thrift store, and I bought that trunk ASAP.
