Casein is disgusting.
However, it's 6:00PM, and I've pretty much maxed carbs for the day. I'm only about half way to my protein goal, which means dinner is a chicken breast followed by casein. And if I wasn't already crabby from low carb day...
"I'd tell you I'm looking at your form, but I'm really just looking at your abs"
"I don't understand people who go to the gym all the time but still eat loads of carbs and drink beer." Because the gym is my home. It's my family. I feel good about myself when I work out. But, I also enjoy ingesting copious amounts of alcohol, preferably in the form of liquid bread. And if I feel like eating a whole pizza, then I'm going to eat a whole fucking pizza. And I'm probably going to chase it with a sleeve of Oreos and three or four porters or stouts. And tomorrow, I'm going to going to go rock climbing and lift heavy - but it's not to "work off" what I ate today. My worldview is not dependent upon the myopic, aestheticized culture in which we live. I'm not willing to sacrifice one thing I love at the expense of another, because I'm happy just being me.Ā

11:45 AM - Dad calls Dad: Are you still in bed? Me: Yeah, I had a rough Friday night. Dad: Max, it's Sunday. Me: Sounds about right. So Friday is my cheat day, but it has become my cheat weekend.
Fit people who donāt look like fit people are still fit people.Ā
How do you learn to love yourself?
Remind yourself every day that you are amazing and beautiful and wonderful.
Listen and understand your own feelings - and be compassionate with them.
Take care of your body, your time, your space and your finances.
Fall in love with yourself.Think about what makes you, you. Appreciate those things.
Do things that make you happy and make you feel good.
Treat yourself just as kindly and thoughtfully as you would anyone else.
Accept yourself for all that you areĀ - both your positive aspects and your human fallibility.
Eliminate self criticism.
Acknowledge your effort, even if you realize you are not doing your best.
Make positive affirmations everyday.Ā For instance, say this to yourself āI love and accept myself completely and unconditionally.ā Read your affirmations out loud several times a day.
Express gratitudeĀ for the person that you are. Cultivate an appreciation for your strengths and gifts. Also, feel a sense of gratitude that you are alive and well, and fully capable of making a difference in your life.
Make a deliberate attempt to look for opportunities that can help improve your confidence. For instance, if you are particularly good at doing something, set aside more time to indulge and improve your skills on it. Knowing that you have particular gifts can boost your self esteem.
An important thing:
Remember that people will refer to your confidence as conceited because it is intimidating to see someone loving themselves without shame or fear. Fuck them. Life is too short to pretend that youāre not amazing.
Dilemma: Do I shower or eat first after the gym?
Solution: Just slammed a protein smoothie in the shower.
