Fantober day 9 - Underrated fandom KJ from the comic Paper Girls

day 7 chibi style Siegmeyer of Catarina aka the Onion knight from dark souls 3. Just a lil dude taking a nap in the middle of hell. I didn’t expect to be so touched by an npcs arc, but Siegmeyers really stuck with me.

Tomorrow is the first rest day in this challenge! It’s been really fun so far and quite easy to stick with in between commissions. See you on the 9th!!

day 6 Draw ship art of a rare/ underrated ship

Yamanda x Nomiya from Honey and Clover manga I’m just going to yap about this comic for a second.

I looove this manga, I read it for the first time when I was around 16 and it was hugely impactful. The story follows a group of university art students and creatives as they move through life. There’s Lots of comedy and soft drama, and the story arcs explore subjects like unrequited love, grief and what it means to make art. Every few years I reread it and find myself relating to different characters depending on where I am in life.

This couple is underrated In a mostly forgotten manga- it felt like a good fit for today’s prompt!

Day 5 redraw some old fanart! Fiona from the genderbend episode of Adventure time! These drawings are about 12 years apart- I remember being extremely proud of the original.

Fantober- Day 3

I knew this challenge would involve at least one high effort dungeon meshi fanart.

I loved the anime, but was blown by the manga and creators world building sketches. I find her style and process extremely inspiring!

Oh and full transparency, I sketched this on day 1, did the lineart on day 2 and I coloured it this morning. I’ll likely do this kind of thing on and off all month, especially if I decide to do a challenging drawing or if I’m busy on one of the days.

Day 2 OTP “one true pair” These days I don’t have a fictional couple that I support wholeheartedly, I am OTP-less

HOWEVER Beast Boy and Raven (from the original cartoon, but more specifically from Geoff Johns run of Teen Titan comics) were absolutely my otp growing up. It’s wild to admit but I’m pretty sure without the original cartoon and this pairing I wouldn’t have gotten into comics and drawing. I kind of miss the intense enthusiasm of being a younger fan

Day 1- favourite protagonist

Harry from Disco Elysium

l could write an essay on how this game and character impacted me on a personal and creative level- but I’ll just say for now I absolutely love watching uncool characters at rock bottom get up and act, whether it’s for better or worse, it’s really compelling to me.

It's an oc who is the child of two canon characters! I remember them from my teen Titans fan days haha I hope you enjoy the challenge if you choose to join!!
