the wolf man: has your muse ever made a mistake that had lasting repercussions? what was it / were they? do they still regret their actions, or have they moved on?

(murder tw) when maxim was a young kid, he blamed his younger brother for killing the house elf when it was actually maxim who did it. ever since then, it set a dangerous precedent for any way that maxim wanted to get out of trouble. he could blame his brother and his parents would believe him no matter what, and he’s continued to do this throughout his life. he doesn’t feel bad about it. it’s just how he lives.

maxim is not the type to discover unusual things unless he is tagging along with someone else. most of the time, that person does the talking. max has never been one to have a silver tongue.

It wasn’t often that Maxim went out on patrol for the Knights—they usually kept patrols in general to a minimum, but Riddle had grown nervous since the rally—and it was even less often that he would be partnered with Ravenna, but both of those things had happened that evening. Maxim wasn’t looking forward to it. Even though he was a full grown adult with a job and plenty of accomplishments, Ravenna had a way of making him feel like he was nothing more than a petulant child. He hated it, mostly because he wasn’t clever or quick-witted enough to come up with a good response. 

He had his hands behind his back, his wand tucked up his sleeve, as they made their way down a darkened Diagon Alley. “How have you been?” he asked. Easy. Safe. IF she was going to be cruel, well, Maxim would just take out his anger on whichever unfortunate halfblood they came across.

Maxim was sitting at his desk in the Ministry late one evening when he saw the little metal charm that Florence had made for him flashing—there was news, and he should get over to her metal charming workshop soon. He picked up the flashing medallion and tucked it into his pocket. While he disliked leaving work unfinished, he also would drop anything and everything for Florence whenever she called, so that was exactly what he did. He slipped on his coat and walked the short distance between the Ministry and Florence’s workshop, rubbing his hands together in the cold before approaching her door and knocking on it sharply. 

“Bozhe moy, it’s awful out here,” he said. While he was used to the cold, the rain was something he had yet to grow accustomed to, and frankly, he hated it. He shifted from side to side, waiting for Florence to open the door before he held up the medallion. “You called. I came.” It could have just been Florence wanted Maxim to come by because they hadn’t seen each other in a while—work had been crazy for him since the rally—and Maxim would be perfectly fine with that, too.

Maxim waited for Cyril at their agreed upon location, just a few minutes early to their set time. He checked his watch, making sure that he was just early enough to be prompt before looking up, holding his hands behind his back. He had been the one to hire Cyril, surreptitiously, under the guise of classified work for the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. He pressed his lips together, looking very severe until Cyril arrived, then he softened some. “Good evening, Cyril,” he said, his voice accented heavily with Russian intonation. 

He knew that he was supposed to be on the side of the Knights in all of this, but he didn’t care about sides when all of their magic was at stake. He was hoping that Cyril could be the kind of person who brought them together, rather than divided them further, though it was honestly a toss-up. Maxim knew that this could all blow up in his face, but he had talked to Florence about it and she had seemed to think it was a good idea, and that was all the reassurance he needed. “How have you been? We all thought you were dead.”

helloooo everyone i needed another knight so here he is! 

☆ ( diego luna, cismale, he/him ) ☆ that over there would be ( maxim mulciber ), the ( 45 ) year old ( pureblood ) who ( did ) fight during the global wizarding war. they attended ( durmstrang ) and are a ( durmstrang ) alum. which is fitting considering they are ( regimented ), yet ( inflexible ). they are a/an ( knight of walpurgis ) and also work as ( head of the department of magical law enforcement ). every time i see them, it’s like ( out of the black by royal blood ) is playing in my head. ( amber whiskey, time turners, bloody noses ). ☆
