Mor coming home exhausted in the middle of the night from a late day of work. Mor winnowing onto her balcony and seeing Azriel sprawled out on his stomach fast asleep, huge wings draped over the entirety of the bed completely relaxed, one arm reaching out among the sheets, the fingertips just meeting the edge of the mattress and dangling off. Mor smiling, watching him sleep as she removes her earrings. Mor noticing the stillness of the shadows keeping watch, the peace written across his face. Mor going into her bathroom to change and dress for bed, happy Azriel didn’t let himself stay up late fretting for once. Mor grabbing one of his shirts from the closet, inhaling the scent, and throwing it on to sleep in. Mor going back to her room and pausing in the doorway to see Azriel hasn’t moved an inch, but his eyes are blinking wearily at her through the dim night lighting. Mor watching Azriel turn that outstretched arm over, palm open and face up in silent invitation for her to join. Mor sliding herself under that arm and pressing a soft kiss to Azriel’s cheek before nuzzling into him for the night. Mor and Az asleep. Mor and Az. 💙

On Rowan punching Aelin in HoF

I’m in no way advocating for violence here, but honestly I’m not surprised at Rowan having punched Aelin in Heir of Fire. She was being a huge bitch to him their entire trip, antagonizing him on purpose, and then basically said the equivalent of “Jewish people deserved the holocaust,” so fuck yeah Rowan hit her. If someone said that to me (and I’m not even Jewish, or in this instance, Fae) I’d probably be tempted to slap them silly. Obviously Rowan is larger and stronger than Aelin in every way, and probably wouldn’t have hit her if she hadn’t said that. But let’s not forget this is a fictional world where Fae and humans interact and are treated quite differently, and Rowan, despite his disliking of Aelin initially, has always treated her as an equal, despite her sex/powers/stature, etc. Again, not saying anyone deserves violence but I can understand why he was so emotionally upset that his instinct was to hit her. Not to mention the fact that with whatever weird headspace Celaena was in, she wanted him to CONTINUE to be violent towards her just so she could feel something. She was egging him on until he broke, knowing he’d snap eventually, definitely knowing what the outcome would be. I don’t think this makes Rowan abusive. Celaena pushed him towards the outcome she wanted. He doesn’t display a pattern of abusive behavior. He may be a hard ass, all stoic and indifferent, but he doesn’t delight in harming her because he’s some sadistic women-beater. I know this has all been said before but I’m re-reading HoF again and honestly sometimes Aelin’s blasé attitude and overall aggressive and brash behavior gets on my nerves. I love Rowaelin with every fiber of my being, but damn girl gets annoying sometimes. Okay, rant over.

This is the best post EVER, regarding this topic. I completely agree! I have always said this but could never get it out in impactful words for Tumblr and the fandom, so thank you. Everyone needs to hear this because I am honestly so fucking sick and tired of explaining why Rowaelin is not and abusive relationship and his actions in heir of fire. I will never NOT reblog.

I’ve also said that Rowan never over-pushed Aelin. When Rowan used Luca in the cave and Aelin fought with him because she didn’t want her friend put in danger, Rowan didn’t understand until he learned about Nehemiah… Rowan IMMEDIATELY backed off. He never used Luca again and he kept training to the two of them.

Secondly what really pisses me off is this: In TOG Chaol was Celaena’s trainer for the tournament. He was always running and training her and pushing her to her limits. They would spar and he would even beat Celaena a few times. I remember in TOG when Celaena specifically talked about rubbing bruises Chaol had given her. Now, Rowan was also Aelins trainer. His job was to get Aelin in better shape and to help her control her magic. It was his JOB just like it was Chaols to TRAIN Aelin. Neither of them used unethical measures of training like Arroybann did.

So my question is this… why is it okay for Chaol to train Aelin and rough her up, but when it comes to Rowan, as soon as he punches her (which I believe was totally justified fyi) he suddenly becomes a woman beater? Is it becasue chaolena shippers are angry that their ship sank? Is it another reason? I don’t know.

To conclude, in the middle to end of HOF, QOS, and EOS, they both take care of each other. Both of them give 100% to the other. Everything that Aelin gave to Rowan, Rowan gave to Aelin. I love rowaelin from the bottom of my heart and honestly love it more then any other ship (even feysand, sorry!) and it really upsets me when people tell me he’s abusive.
