The weather in the Netherlands can be quite harsh. Yesterday the weather institute gave a code yellow for strong winds and rain. While it is not the best weather for a walk outside, it does make for some great pictures! This picture was shot at the Houthavens, one of the newest neighbourhoods in @iamsterdam . Hi, just posted my first post on Tumblr! I am Max Roest. I am a photographer doing street, portrait and abstract photography. From this point on I will post regularly and you can follow me here or on Instagram @maxroestphotography if you like my content!

- One of the things I find very difficult to put in my photography so far, is to shoot a picture that tells a story, when there are no people in the picture. It is something that I want to improve on.

-I did snap this picture, that I am quite happy with, on an evening walk a few weeks ago. On the one hand, these are just some shiny boots. But on the other, I wondered why someone would leave their shiny boots outside in the rain and what kind of person would wear them.

- This kind of photography is a bit more abstract and artsy, but I really like shooting it. Let me know what you think!
