on the haze over crashing waves
beneath glaring sun and
behind shaded lenses, rests
my clarity. obscured by noises
echoed in and around and
among the others staring out,
reaching out for something I too long for,
for too long.
i dip, twist, with unclipped wings
and breach the waves.
senses enhanced by dancings
and swirls of misted light,
expanded by the flight of forgotten
worries, troubles, cares.
echo back to me, you once-remembered
moment of bliss.
come and drown me, push me under.
i long to be lost in your goodness
and insist on that endeavor.
crisp skin, freckled, dotted by the
ocean water--make me new.
