Hello!

My name is McKenna and welcome to my unconventional blog. Truthfully this is a blog to keep all of my songs in but I welcome anyone to use the 'sheet music' all they like. I grew up with classic rock music. Rock in general has a deep meaning and holds a special place in my heart alas hearing flutes in rock music isn't as common aside from a couple songs here and there and, of course, our lord and saviour Jethro Tull. So I started making my own. I usually play by ear off of the lyrics of a song and slowly figure out the notes for myself.

I've been playing music since I was young starting with piano. I began to learn flute in high school and it became my favourite instrument among the ones I play. I am not at all theory inclined. I fucking hate music theory I prefer to play for fun. You'll see in this blog a lot of my songs are not written on sheet music and that is because I hate reading sheet music. Instead, I use the lyrics and put the notes above each syllable of the lyrics which is the easiest way I understand. Eventually, I'd like to convert the songs to sheet music but that's a job for a later time. I find this way, while unconventional and certainly not as detailed as sheet music, is a lot easier to understand for new flautists.

I hope to make consistent updates soon. I took a break from playing flute for a while but hoping to get back on track and I hope having this hobby again will give me something to do. I'm not at all classically music-trained or anything and I'm certainly no master at making music however it's a hobby I enjoy and hope someone out there appreciates at least a little. Please no hate or anything for it. If there is anything wrong with my music posted kindly let me know but know I do this for fun!
