Meet Rudy, he’s a poster child for the male loneliness epidemic and a pathetic, chronically online redditor incel type (to an extent of course, he is redeemable) (it’ll take a lot of effort on his part though). He’s an awful person to live with and it’s a miracle he’s managed to find someone willing to put up with his bs. At least he’s good with computers or whatever

His story centers around redemption, personal growth, and the idea that all the red pill/black pill/manosphere whatever men have the ability to become better and be redeemed as long as they are willing to put in the effort.

Rudy is one of these guys! He got ahold of the internet from a young age and because of an unfortunate soup of family circumstances, he ended up in a bunch of incel reddity male manipulator internet spaces. He is now a uni student, struggling due to his lack of social skills. His companion on his journey to redemption is an angel (???), sent to earth to guide Rudy onto the right path. Because of the way they both are, they do NAWT like each other and are stuck together until either Mr. Angel guy gives up, or Rudy actually decides to self improve. Rudy believes things will never go Mr. Angel man’s way because he is just fine with his life actually (he’s not).

after much toil THEY ARE HEREEEEE WAHOO i ended up changing the ratio design a bit because it wasn’t pretentious enough to be a genius society outfit lol (ignore the ugly ahh book)

anyways lore for my au >:)

instead of becoming a teacher, ratio decided to expand the total of human knowledge by studying things no one else wanted to study (the nihility for example) and his super specialist level knowledge meant no one else could keep up with him and he became a shut in. his contributions got him into the genius society.

SLIGHT PENACONY SPOILERS!!!

aventurine went to penacony with some rando as his invigilator and when he was sent into that funky nihility space, instead of getting out right away, he fell deeper and deeper into it. when he eventually got out, he’d become an emanator of the nihility.

they met when ratio was on a field study on some planet looking into the nihility and ran into aven who was wandering around in space and was drawn to that planet. ratio immediately took an interest in aven but aven didn’t stick around. they meet briefly a few more times and eventually ratio asks aven if he can study him (😋). shenanigans ensue
