hmmm iiiii. don't really know tbh. my personal interp of Kirby in games is a very down-to-earth guy who likes to keep things simple in his life with a couple or two adventures, so I'd imagine with adulthood he might've mellowed out more and found something he enjoys doing. like. yes he does enjoy adventures and fighting for fun (arena is good proof of that) but doing that for living might be tiring for the guy!
then there's the fact that he actually did spent a few years as a royalty (real royalty, not whatever Dedede got going on) as Patchlandian prince-consort, and that made him realize how BADLY he's not cut out for this shit. he legitimately doesn't understand some part of etiquette and to Patchlandian nobles he's painfully straightforward. (for regular folk that's refreshing for once to know that their royalty does mean what they say, but nobles think he's acting like a commoner he is.)
add to that - he's a dad! he has been brought up by Animal Friends as sort of a free range kid (at least, as far as he remembers - he doesn't remember anything before crashing onto Popstar), so he remembers his childhood clearly and wants his kids (both of them, Chiffon and Nova) to have the same childhood. he's genuinely saddened Chiffon barely was able to have the same freedom as a princess, so he wants her to have this at least here in Dreamland for now.
he still is a hero for Dreamland, don't get me wrong. I guess what I wanted to do is to portray him as a person he'd grow up into, and not as an ideal role he'd take. he's fucking multidimentional, dammit!

Organizing an event of this magnitude and in this format was somewhat of a new experience for me, I must admit. The road was a bit bumpy even with all the precautions I took, but we made it in the end! I am proud to present you all the fruits of our collective labors - this collage.

Malina would be a 2d sprite with limited animation, part drawn part using scanned photos (specifically, chanterelle mushrooms up close and plaid b/w fabric)
they are perpetually tired, not moving/barely moving from their spot (rooted by mycelium) and speak in both Russian and English (Russian is more casual, English is reserved for more out-there lines). is actually nice to ENA, if not sympathetic, refers to her as "ЭНУШКА" often ("ENNIE"). would probably request something to help them stay awake, but I'd imagine there could be an even better optional reward later if you help them get a good sleep instead.

Hello, and welcome to the third Kirby Birthday Collab, celebrating 33rd anniversary of the Kirby series!
Coming from the person who organized the collab on Far-Flung Starlight Heroes two years ago, and brought it here on Tumblr year ago, this year we're starting here from the beginning.
So, what is this?
The rules are simple - you pick a character you'd like to draw, draw them in the set, send them over to the mod to be put in a big collaborative canvas, and by the time April 27th rolls around, we'll have a big picture to celebrate with! This time, however, the mod (aka me) is trying to streamline the process a bit.
First off, we have Applications.
To join this year's birthday collab, you'll have to fill out an application form. The applications will be open on March 1st and will be open till March 15th. Since most of the communication will happen via Discord, take into consideration that you must be 13 and older to apply, and I'll need your social media for proper crediting.
What's the schedule this year?
The schedule is as follows:
Collab application: March 1st - March 15th
Final participant confirmation: March 22nd
Check-in 1: April 5th
Check-in 2: April 19th
Submissions closing: April 24th
Final touches and layout revision: April 26th
Collab publication: April 27th!
