i just realized- i never posted my composition final!
this was my final for the intro to music composition seminar i took in the fall; its a duet for piano and viola inspired by one of the original characters from me and @katkit-42‘s novel, emilyn. i’m really proud of it– wish i had any idea how to write for piano, but the viola part sounds exactly like how i wanted it to when i started writing the piece (with the exception of sibelius’ viola playback sounding………. meh)
more original music of mine!! its not very long (yet) but im also pretty sure this is the idea/concept im going to spin out into my longer work for my composition class AND im p happy with it

celeste all the fucking way. shes an adorable smol ball of insecurity and worry. most of the worry is about people hating her/hating casi by proxy/hating the two of them as a unit, but she has casis constant reassuring thoughts to soothe her
7. What’s the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for each other?
ok so casi and celeste have some destiny soulmate shit going on where theyve sort of always been in love and had feelings for each other so there was really no moment of realization
what is a much more interesting question is what changed when they met each other. up to that point in their lives, casi had always been a surprisingly lethargic kid, always interested in eating and sleeping and not much else, while celeste had boundless energy and could never concentrate or sit still. when they first met, the change was immediate- casi suddenly became energized while celeste became more subdued.
10. Who remembers what the other always orders at a restaurant?
casi definitely, mostly to save celeste the responsibility of talking to ppl (eww)

celeste reaches for the hand. casi reaches for...... something else................

CELESTE
shed of course never admit it bc shes too proud, so this mostly manifests itself in bouts of apologizing and blatant insecurity followed by denying casis compliments (though she always gives in eventually)
casi meanwhile is always more than willing to combat celestes insecurities and need for assurance by CONSTANTLY showering her with compliments and reassurance (she loves her gf so much)
21. Who is most likely to start dancing with the other?
casi. casi loves dancing. she loves dancing with her beautiful wonderful fantastic gf (esp dirty dancing, arguably the best kind of dancing in casis eyes)

emilyn’s absolute favorite feature is hiyoko’s willingness to stick by her, to deal with her moodiness and how quiet she is all the time and the fact that she doesnt really like to talk to people or get close to them, to keep her company
hiyoko’s team is filled with a lot of loud talkers; she loves having someone she can be quiet with (though that doesnt stop her from encouraging emilyn to be more social)

hiyoko leaves notes in emilyns lunch. they usually involve reminding emilyn to eat.

theres a very canon thing about this otp that breaks my heart and it involves emilyn becoming convinced that she is unworthy of hiyokos love and forgiveness, and even if she received it, it wouldnt mend the hole in her soul

molly. absolutely. none of them know how to cook now, but as soon as the novels are over, molly is going to teach himself how to cook and how to raise children and how to do a ton of domestic shit and spend like all day working on dinner and planning these huge elaborate and tasty meals and making sure xenon and zinc eat enough and eat healthy

zinc (made all the worse by the fact that he usually congratulates himself for a good line immediately after delivering it)

xenon tries not to worry about zinc not loving them/loving molly more than them/leaving them for molly (see: 25.)
zinc, knowing how much xenon worries, tries to skype with them as often as possible to tell them how much he misses them; while hes much less outward with how much he misses molly, he calls molly on a regular basis
molly misses everyone. a lot. but comforts himself by spending a ton of time with the kiddos (there r a lot of kiddos too so)

im glad im doing an actual non-canon ship for this question bc anything else would definitely be canon
even after years of healthy polyamory xenon is still secretly terrified that zinc loves molly more, that zinc only likes them bc their relationship is more socially acceptable bc xenon is femme-presenting and molly is a guy.

molly and xenon helped zinc work through his internalized homophobia, and zinc and molly helped xenon work through their self-hatred, and xenon and zinc helped molly work through his emotional repression & ptsd, and theyve all helped each other so much and theyve all helped each other grow into more emotionally stable people, and even if it didnt fix everything, they all now have a support system, a foundation for continuing to grow

what a loaded fucking question ok well zincs family is dead except for beryl and xenon hates their parents and would have strong incentive to not tell molly (and also they dont really have friends outside of molly and annie, and zinc has radon) so probably zinc

radon is definitely happy for zinc bc thats his main bro (even if he doesnt understand any of it)
beryl doesnt have a strong reaction bc the school is trying to kill her with work leading to emotional numbness
molly full-heartedly disapproves (and it has nothing to do with the fact that he thinks zinc is hot NOTHING)
annie is soooooo happy for xenon shes probably the happiest/most supportive out of everyone
as for xenons parents they tentatively approve bc they view it as a heterosexual relationship/a sign of xenon behaving more like their birth gender and anything that stamps out that gender non-conforming gay nonsense is a good thing in their eyes
