All suffering originates from craving, from attachment, from desire.
Edgar Allan Poe (via wordsnquotes)
Youâre beautiful. You walk wonderfully and if I were here and saw you now for the first time Iâd be in love with you. If I saw you for the first time everything would turn over inside of me and Iâd ache right through my chest.
Ernest Hemingway, The Complete Short Stories (via wnq-writers)
There was an episode, one of my favorite moments in Star Trek, when Captain Kirk looks over the cosmos and says, âSomewhere out there someone is saying the three most beautiful words in any language.â Of course your heart sinks and you think itâs going to be, âI love youâ or whatever. He says, âPlease help me.â What a philosophically fantastic idea, that vulnerability and need is a beautiful thing.
Hugh Laurie (via epionne)
It is terrifying to think that one day you will trust somebody enough to let them see you naked. You will undress and remind them that youâve stretch marks and birth marks and scars from having chicken pox when you were little and scars from all of the other things now. You will blush thousands of shades of red, painting yourself as a rose losing its petals. And that person - that person will take it all in. And I wonder if they will reassure you. But mostly, I wonder if they will even see anything worth reassuring you about. I hope they see each freckle on your back as if itâs a star and you are the whole universe to them.

The thought of you is what keeps me going. Iâm looking forward to seeing you, feeling you. Youâre the only good thing in my life and I hope youâll stay.

I love you more than the world can contain in its lonely and ramshackle head.

@mayilivelikethelotus youâre my favorite person in this whole wide world. I donât know how I got such a cute and wonderful best friend but I would never take you for granted. Youâre the light of my life and we have the best dates. Happy Valentineâs Day đŁâ¨đđ
I love you đ me and sash are the cutest
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close.
Pablo Neruda, 100 Love Sonnets (via feellng)
But who prays for Satan? Who, in eighteen centuries, has had the common humanity to pray for the one sinner that needed it most?
- Mark Twain
This is honestly my favorite quote. Itâs changed how I look at life and religion

My dear, I think of you always and at night I build myself a warm nest of things I remember and float in your sweetness till morning.

Find a beautiful piece of art. If you fall in love with Van Gogh or Matisse or John Oliver Killens, or if you fall love with the music of Coltrane, the music of Aretha Franklin, or the music of Chopin - find some beautiful art and admire it, and realize that that was created by human beings just like you, no more human, no less.

I crave your legs intertwined with mine, I crave nothing but you, in the most simplest of ways.

Have you ever seen brown eyes in the sun? You donât always notice it at first but youâll see that âbrownâ no longer describes them. They melt into golden rays, circling an eclipse. Thereâs nothing boring about brown eyes, not even when the later hours encroach; they just turn into a sunset of their own.Â
2015: we said we were going to romanticize brown eyes and someone did it
I have never loved so harshly, so madly, but delicately and humbly, until I met you. Grasping onto you now in this midnight lit hour; I have learned and felt so much more than I have in my time in searching. Realizing it was you all along.

Roman Cats Turn A Historic Site Into Cat Haven
In Rome, many stray and feral cats have found a haven amid the ruins at Torre Argentina. The Julius Caesarâs assassination site has been turned into a cat sanctuary for many homeless cats. The Torre Argentina Roman Cat Sanctuary spay and neuter these cats and keep them healthy and fed. âPeople are interested more in the cats than in monuments,â says Lia Dequel, one of the shelterâs founders. âThe two together are fantastic⌠because monuments come alive if you see a cat lying on it, or jumping from one pillar to another.â (npr) Torre Argentina is home to about 250 feline friends, sheltered amongst the oldest temples in Rome (400-300 BC). Seven days a week volunteers from different countries, feed, clean and look after them. In 2012 alone, they spayed and neutered 3013 cats as well as 125 cats placed in homes.
