Celebrating Earth Day Under the Sea with Artist @jason_decaires_taylor

(This interview was conducted in Spanish.)
British artist Jason Decaires Taylor’s (@jason_decaires_taylor) sculptures live under the sea. His newest aquatic installation is on display at the Atlantic Museum, an underwater museum off the coast of Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands. “A lot of the narrative of the sculptures is about global warming, about a denial of what’s happening to our resources,” he says of his sculptures. “On a practical level, they are designed to encourage people to go into the ocean, to get to know more about the environment.” Made from a special type of marine cement, the life-size pieces host different species of sponge, coral and fish. “I am hoping that in the future they will be completely inundated with life and transformed,” he says. #EarthDay

Celebrating Hanukkah in Brazil with @noavago
To add some modern Jewish cuisine with a hint of Brazilian tropics to your feed, follow @noavago on Instagram.
(This interview was conducted in Portuguese.)
Like a lot of 21 year olds, Noá Vago (@noavago) is still finding her identity. “I want to look back on my life in a few years and see that I’m doing something relevant for the world,” she says. When Noá isn’t studying psychology at university in São Paulo she is finding herself in the kitchen, turning to her pots and pans for therapy. Through cooking, Noá pays tribute to her Polish grandmother’s Jewish recipes, but also adds her own modern Brazilian flair to traditional dishes. “Both influences are very much a part of me, so I’m making Jewish dishes but adding some chocolate and Nutella,” she laughs, referring to her chocolate challah bread. For Hanukkah this year, Noá plans to put her special touch on traditional recipes, like potato latkes and doughnuts.
For Noá, cooking is a way to escape everyday pressures, which means not taking herself too seriously. “I think my food looks homemade and tastes like a 21-year-old taking culinary risks,” she says. “I’m just a girl trying to make my escape through the kitchen.”

And the Top Hashtag of 2015 is…
To see more photos that show the #love, check out the #interactivegrams hashtag on Instagram.
Love reigns supreme. For the third year in a row, #love is the top Instagram hashtag — and David Schwen’s (@dschwen) #interactivegrams are all about the 💗. He stages images with a heart, front and center, so that double-tapping on them creates a double heart. “Ever since I was a child, I’ve loved life’s guilty little pleasures: popping Bubble Wrap, scratching the ink off lottery tickets, drawing a picture on a frosted window. This is how I came up with the idea … It was so simple, and that’s why I loved it,” the Minneapolis-based illustrator and art director says.
Years after its conception, community members from all over the globe spread the #love with their own #interactivegrams. “The act of double-tapping or loving each other’s images and videos has become an important interaction between people,” David says. “There are people across the world that I have never met in person, yet I’m able to send an affirmation of love by double-tapping their photo.”
