Logan found himself at the bar. Again. Though he had turned to a life of heroism, he hadn’t turned away completely from a life of alcoholism. What could he say? Old habits died hard. Besides, just because you start fighting for the general public, it doesn’t suddenly turn you into a saint. At least, it wasn’t that way in Logan’s case. He wasn’t trying to be that way, anyway. He was too honest with himself to act any differently. Oh well.
He ordered a whiskey. And another. And then another. After all, he wasn’t driving anywhere. Why not? He looked over at the wall, humming a little whilst he debated playing a round of darts. He looked around. Well, there was no one to play against (or, rather there was no one to bet against) but it was better than just sitting it silence. Well, it was for now anyway. He grabbed the set of darts and went to work.
Being so focused on his game, he didn’t even notice the woman come into the bar, and he definitely didn’t notice her taking his seat. When he turned, however, his eyes went straight to her. He sighed, strolling over to her. He stood behind, quietly, waiting for her to notice. Logan wouldn’t be rude, oh no. Short, perhaps, but not rude. He crossed his arms over his chest, waiting for her to realize her mistake.
When she spoke about throwing punches, he raised an eyebrow, then smirked when when she seemed to backtrack. “No punches necessary, but I will take a drink if you’re offering. Whiskey. Neat.” He took the seat beside her, resting his elbows on the bar and leaning forward slightly. Logan looked over at the woman. She was… Well, she was beautiful. That much was obvious to anyone with even passable vision.
“What the hell are you doing in a place like this?” Logan asked, genuinely confused as to how a beautiful woman ended up in a dive bar on a Saturday night. As the bartender set down his drink in front of him, he grabbed the glass and took a sip. “I mean, not that I mind you being here… You’re much prettier than the old drunks that usually hang out here, so I’m not complaining.”

“Well, that's no Bee's Knees or Elephant Shake but I guess it'll do,” she joked (sort of) at his drink of choice and gestured towards the bartender to bring just that. May felt a smile tug onto her lips against her better judgement as he'd sat down on the stool beside his former seat, elbows propped up on the bar as he looked over. What's worse is that she ended up laughing at his question. It just fell out, you know? The sound was almost unrecognisable, like she hadn't heard it in years. At least not quite like this.
“Mm, that is a fair question,” she took a long sip of her way funner drink while she debated exactly how much information she should give out here. “This place was the place to be when I was in college. Nothing too flashy, three songs on the juke box if you were lucky enough to hit it just right and they never water down the hard liqueur which was required only for half-price shots then so. I guess old habits die hard. Or nostalgia's a bitch... It's definitely one of the two.” Another generous sip and she was peaking over at him again. He was hot. You know, she wasn't blind or dead and that much was obvious. It was in this rugged, lumberjack kinda way and she was pretty sure he was wearing socks too.
Jeez, what was she doing? “Okay and,” she announced, lowering her voice conspiratorially as she leaned over just a little, “I had a date. Well, I was gonna have a date. I got ready, I showed up and I saw him... This actually sounds really bad when I say it outloud. Um, well, his ankles were on display, you know? Just full on ankle, right out there and on top of that, he wasn't wearing socks. I know, I know. Try and not fall off your seat from the shock.” May grinned before settling back in her (or, well, his) seat.
“I don't know, I guess I just wasn't feeling it. Obviously I was just meant to wind up here instead before you went and spent all your cash buying your own drinks. A scandal, really. You'd think someone in here would have stepped up by now. In my humble opinion, the guy over there falling asleep into his pint is definitely the one to watch. Second prettiest in here, after me,” she joked (again. Wow, who knew she still could?) as her eyes scanned the room again before landing back on him. “I'm May, by the way.”
