Pausing Posting on Tumblr
I haven’t been getting much traffic on Tumblr, and since every social media post takes a lot of effort that could be better spent elsewhere, I’m going to stop posting on here and focus on my other social media platforms and on doing more art.
But thank you for any and all the support you’ve given me in the time I’ve been here!
If you’re interested in continuing to see updates on my artwork, I will be on my website at https://www.mayzart.com/
Other social media accounts I’ll be on are listed here: https://www.mayzart.com/contact
Inktober Burnout
I've reached my burnout point today. Well, actually, I'm pretty sure I reached it yesterday and saw hints of it the day before, but today I've decided to take a break and reevaluate how I'm going to approach this challenge.
I just wanted to post here to let others know that it's okay if you need a break. It's a tough challenge, and not everyone can do it. But just because you can't complete the challenge of drawing everyday for a month doesn't mean you are a failure, it just means that this format isn't working for you. Remember, this challenge is supposed to be for you! Use it as a tool to help you, but if it stops helping you, figure out what's wrong, and change it to fit your needs.
I wish everyone good luck in all their artistic endeavors and look forward to seeing the posts of people who do continue to post them (even beyond the month of October).

Drawn during my first year doing Inktober, a challenge to make an ink drawing everyday for the month of October. The prompt for Day 6 was Husky.
I figured a lot of people were going to be drawing the Husky dog, but I decided to draw corn with its husk instead. I also wanted to try out a bit of color to see how that goes. The new markers I got have so much ink that they bleed a lot more on the paper.

Drawn during my first year doing Inktober, a challenge to make an ink drawing everyday for the month of October. The prompt for Day 5 was Build.
I used to play a lot with Jenga blocks when I was little, not necessarily the game itself, just stacking them into different things in general. So I thought it would be fun to try to draw them and get a little more practice with three-point perspective. I was attempting to change the three points as I drew the higher pieces to indicate that they were not perfectly aligned, but it didn't quite turn out as I had planned in my head. Oh well.

Drawn during my first year doing Inktober, a challenge to make an ink drawing everyday for the month of October. The prompt for Day 4 was Freeze.
I had a few other fun ideas, but I really wanted to learn how to draw icebergs with reflections on the water, so I did this one. I'm really proud of how it turned out.

Drawn during my first year doing Inktober, a challenge to make an ink drawing everyday for the month of October. The prompt for Day 3 was Bait.
Drawing a single worm didn't seem like enough, so I covered the entire page with them. I wanted to do more to the drawing, but I needed a bit of a break and had a lot of other things I had to get done elsewhere.

Drawn during my first year doing Inktober, a challenge to make an ink drawing everyday for the month of October. The theme for Day 2 is Mindless. It's hard to come up with ideas when your idea light bulb is broken.
I had to search deep under my bed to find the markers I never use. Most of them were dry, but I found a couple that worked.

My first attempt at Inktober, a challenge to make an ink drawing everyday for the month of October. The theme for Day 1 is Ring. I decided to do a drawing of Saturn’s rings instead of just a ring on the finger. More info at: https://www.mayzart.com/art/Inktober-Ring
