Hey, I’m going to the Metro. Not too deep, if I can help it. Bastards killed literal children and now are holding a group of Salmonids hostage, and I’m going to negotiate on the fish’s behalf.

Anura made it to Alterna as quickly as she could, carrying a bag with a couple of folders and her octoshot on her hip. Underneath her normal clothes she had her armor in case they decided to go down today. She had been a few times to collect test samples.

Quickly, a large door opened up revealing Serena, who was looking over a tablet. She glanced up with a smile.
“Thank you for making it down here so quickly, I hope the trip down wasn’t too much of a hassle.”
She lead Anura through the hallways of Alterna, quickly. Not really stopping to explain anything the other would be seeing along the walls. It was mainly just pictures of human scientists, with their names and positions proudly displayed on a plaque below the picture.
“I’m thinking that we should take this mission in parts. To make sure nothing too serious happens to any of us. The first mission down would be to scout the metro. I want to bug the place to hell and back, and hopefully figure out any plans the Telephone has.”
Another door opened up, revealing a small meeting room where Mayday Morgan, applicant 9069 and former Captain of Girl Power Station sat.
“Anura, this is Mayday. Mayday, this is Anura.” She reintroduced them to each other.

Anura nodded. She could sense the discomfort but knew better than to comment on it. “When we scout the place we need to avoid being seen at all costs. They will do anything they can to make sure we don’t leave once they know we are down there, so when we execute the final plan, we have one chance.” She straightened her posture, but couldn’t make herself look up at the other two Octolings. “Are the earpieces for communications, or do they serve other functions?”

“Communications yes, but, by my companion’s request, they also play the Inkantation at all times, just to give us some extra protection against whatever they might throw at us down there.” She explained quickly.

They took a slow breath, letting their eyes fall shut for a moment before speaking. "That's all fine and dandy, but I think we should work something out before anything else. We've all done some things we regret, but we've all grown since then. I'm not going to spend the entire time being afraid of you, I'm just nervous around strangers, and you're fine. I trust you, okay?"

“That… means a lot. Thank you. I agree that we can’t just rush in. The Inkantation should help keep things in check at least. I was rescued with a lot of resistance, meaning they may still think I’m in line with them. Though, I’d only want to pretend if I absolutely had to. Even though a spy could be useful, I know I’d only be able to hold my facade for so long.” She shook her head. She held up her currently empty octoshot, looking at her reflection in it. She felt numb looking at her eyes.
“I made a promise to myself I’d stop hiding if the world didn’t end. I hope finally I can make it up for my past times” she sighed, staring a moment before returning it back to the spot on her hip. She shook her head, trying to focus again.
“If I’m correct, There’s a few back entrances through domes that as far as I know are high enough to mostly be empty. Those areas were often kept hidden and didn’t have any guards. With their numbers smaller, Kamabo Co may not have enough to guard them even if they upped security. Though, that’s a best case scenario. For all we know they could be trying to get as many in their ranks as possible. Good news is that majority of the original documents ended up with me, meaning if we destroyed any copies left down there that detail my old methods, it would be harder for them to continue. The main issue would be cameras. We’d have to use distractions and blind spots to our advantages.” They pulled up their map on their old CQ as they spoke, carefully looking at the main lines and some of the areas around it that were employees only.
A swift nod, “What I hope to do is bug as many of the cameras as physically possible. That way, my companion back here can access all of them, and even disable them if it deems necessary.”
She pulled out a bag of little chips, “All we should have to do is plug these into the SD slot and ORCA should have control of the camera. Though, I highly doubt we’ll be able to get every single camera in the metro in one swoop, so we should keep track of which cameras we bug so we know which ones aren’t safe.”

I look like I came fresh out of there since I didn’t do enough treatments to get myself looking even somewhat normal. The only one of us left is Serena… she could also use the skin paint and if she made her tentacles dark blue, the color would be really close. Just out of extra precaution, goggles would help us for armor sake and blending in. My eyes are messed up from self experimentation. You two might be able to pass with your eyes how they are but I’d keep them covered. Better to be safe than sorry down there.” As she spoke she pulled out her old goggles from her bag, holding them up before putting them back in.

“I dunno… I… I think painting myself green would freak me out a bit…” She gripped her upper arm with her hand.
“Perhaps I could pretend to be a subject—?” Her voice cracked, “I-It’s not a perfect idea, but if you guys look like you’re busy dealing with me, they’ll probably leave you to it instead of bothering you-?”

It also might mean I can recover my old labs and use it to give us a hideout. I can easily just say I’m at work and don’t want to be disturbed. I can very easily feign experiments or intentionally do them incorrectly so they cause minimal to no harm. All that matters is that you think you can do it.” She smiled a bit, starting to feel a little more confident.
“Scouting should be a breeze then. I also have some extra files on the place to review if we need them, or maybe just mark cameras so when it comes time to disable them, we know which ones should be effected.” Anura slowly relaxed a bit, feeling better about the plan as she discussed.

I think this might actually work!”
Despite being skeptical, she was feeling better and better about the ideas. Finally, she might make things right.

“If I’m correct, There’s a few back entrances through domes that as far as I know are high enough to mostly be empty. Those areas were often kept hidden and didn’t have any guards. With their numbers smaller, Kamabo Co may not have enough to guard them even if they upped security. Though, that’s a best case scenario. For all we know they could be trying to get as many in their ranks as possible. Good news is that majority of the original documents ended up with me, meaning if we destroyed any copies left down there that detail my old methods, it would be harder for them to continue. The main issue would be cameras. We’d have to use distractions and blind spots to our advantages.” They pulled up their map on their old CQ as they spoke, carefully looking at the main lines and some of the areas around it that were employees only.
A swift nod, “What I hope to do is bug as many of the cameras as physically possible. That way, my companion back here can access all of them, and even disable them if it deems necessary.”
She pulled out a bag of little chips, “All we should have to do is plug these into the SD slot and ORCA should have control of the camera. Though, I highly doubt we’ll be able to get every single camera in the metro in one swoop, so we should keep track of which cameras we bug so we know which ones aren’t safe.”

Quickly, a large door opened up revealing Serena, who was looking over a tablet. She glanced up with a smile.
“Thank you for making it down here so quickly, I hope the trip down wasn’t too much of a hassle.”
She lead Anura through the hallways of Alterna, quickly. Not really stopping to explain anything the other would be seeing along the walls. It was mainly just pictures of human scientists, with their names and positions proudly displayed on a plaque below the picture.
“I’m thinking that we should take this mission in parts. To make sure nothing too serious happens to any of us. The first mission down would be to scout the metro. I want to bug the place to hell and back, and hopefully figure out any plans the Telephone has.”
Another door opened up, revealing a small meeting room where Mayday Morgan, applicant 9069 and former Captain of Girl Power Station sat.
“Anura, this is Mayday. Mayday, this is Anura.” She reintroduced them to each other.

They made a two-fingered salute, eyeing Anura with a little caution. "Eight said 'Rina kept her behind for this part. Probably for the best. Too many people will get us in trouble. She'll be around for the fights, if anything." A little shrug. "I've got earpieces for us."

Anura nodded. She could sense the discomfort but knew better than to comment on it. “When we scout the place we need to avoid being seen at all costs. They will do anything they can to make sure we don’t leave once they know we are down there, so when we execute the final plan, we have one chance.” She straightened her posture, but couldn’t make herself look up at the other two Octolings. “Are the earpieces for communications, or do they serve other functions?”

“Communications yes, but, by my companion’s request, they also play the Inkantation at all times, just to give us some extra protection against whatever they might throw at us down there.” She explained quickly.

They took a slow breath, letting their eyes fall shut for a moment before speaking. "That's all fine and dandy, but I think we should work something out before anything else. We've all done some things we regret, but we've all grown since then. I'm not going to spend the entire time being afraid of you, I'm just nervous around strangers, and you're fine. She didn’t usually call unless it was important, much preferring texting for casual conversations.

"Bwuh-Serena? What's up? You never call me." They had their phone pressed between their shoulder and cheek as they answered, busy as usual. "Something wrong?"
“I talked to 2222, face to face today.”
That’s all she said.
Silence, for a moment, and then a soft response.
"Oh." A beat. "How did it go?"
“Oddly well. She gave me my files. Ugly as you expect them to be. Pretty sure she’s got your files as well…”
She paused.
“Uh. Apparently what 8 did wasn’t enough. Kamabo is still fucking active. I’m gonna go down to take it out again myself.”
There was the sound of things clattering, and suddenly, Mayday sounded a lot more serious.
"Not alone. Right? You're not that stupid, are you?"
Serena sighed.
“You sound like ORCA. No, I’m not going alone. If I was I wouldn’t just tell you I was going. I wanted to know if you wanted to come with.”
"Do I want to? I would rather dissolve in a puddle of rotten ink than set foot in Kamabo's grasp again. But! I have an unending need for vengeance and would love to kick this guy's shit in, so..." They snorted. "I think you know the answer. ORCA has already sent me schematics for earpieces that can't be sabotaged or removed easily."
“It— wh—“
There was some rustling.
“Can you stop trying to be five steps ahead of me at all times? —— You’re fucking insane!”
She huffed, “Sorry about that. ORCA knew you’d agree, but I always like to ask anyway and not assume things about people.” She sighed, “Should I call Eight as well? I don’t want her to re-traumatize herself… but I think she should at least know what’s happening…”
"She'll want to come." It was said without hesitation. "It would drive her crazy to not go. Plus, we're still missing Cap and the other Neo. This is the first lead we've had in ages!"

“Fuck…” She whispered.
“Do you think they might be down there?? I was too busy looking towards the fish to even consider that it might have been Kamabo.”

“Okay. Okay. Can you meet me in Alterna? We might need to go quicker than I originally wanted to.”
