A collaboration Zine with my two friends on my course! We decided to combine all the three themes we discussed in our lectures, Fashion x Film, Fashion x Music and Fashion x Art- as you can see from above I worked on the Fashion x Film part of the Zine. I looked at my favourite movies, The Devil Wears Prada, Clueless, Grease which I included my own illustration of a milkshake and edited picture of Frenchie and Legally Blonde.
1970s GLAM ROCK
The era of being bigger, better and more extravagant, from stars wars with special effects and a major shift in the love of science fiction during Pop Culture. This is where music artists began to draw inspiration inspiration from the Sci-Fi genre, David Bowie, TRex, Gary Glitter and KISS to name a few. THIS IS WHERE GLAM ROCK WAS BORN...
This is where young youth culture began to express their sexuality and clothing choices. A lot of underground shops began to carry glam rock styled clothing. Extravagant, bold and very very shiny! It was considered to be one of the first pop subcultures out there. it wasn’t mainstream, glam rock was diverse, edgy and underground in clubs.
Top to Bottom= David Bowie, TRex, Debby Harry.

Britney Spears- never leaving a lot to the imagination, Britney Spears always continued her own trend of midriff on show and skimpy dress up outfits. This is what she became known for.
Fashion X Music
From Baby Spice in that Union Jack dress, to Madonna’s cone bra, Justin Timberlake with some questionable hairstyles and the iconic David Bowie- Fashion and Music have paired together to create some of the most memorable looks in the last 60 years...

MY STYLE TRIBE
Everyone is different. However, everyone adopts different style tribes and takes influence from different fashion eras. I personally take influence from 70s/90s fashion- I get inspiration from Rachel from Friends, Drew Darrymoore, Megan Ellaby (Blogger) and many more. I’m currently loving, flares, Crayola brights- red, blue, green, yellow and double denim much to my mums dismay. I believe anyone can dress whatever way they want and how ever they want to express themselves.
I’m not sure I’ve adopted a style yet- I wear what I feel comfortable in for that particular day!
