local old man finally gets new clothes
Do you have any tips to avoid same face syndrome? I can tell who’s who with them having different facial features, it’s something I struggle with I would appreciate any advice.
(Love your art)
I am sorry, if I don’t have that great tone or expression though this text I am not good with words or expression. Again apologies if this comes off wrong or rude.
No worries man, I get you👍
So, the main thing I do to separate faces, is instead of starting off with a circle each time as the base of the head, I use the shape that brings together their brows, cheekbones, and chin. But the shape of the face doesn’t really mean much if you keep all their facial features the exact same, which leads to breaking down the general shape of the eyes, nose, and lips
Look at these beautiful people below. Their eyes are set into their heads differently from each other, the model in the middle has a wider forehead than the model on the left. The model on the right has sharper eyes and longer ears than either of the models. When you’re struggling with same face syndrome, this is typically the main symptom, making all the features look the exact same even if the face shape is different from your other characters.
Once you get all the technical anatomical stuff under your belt, THEN you can simplify the characters into your style. Again, learn the rules before you read someone else’s guidelines. Keeping a reference of the real life model you want your characters to resemble is also a good practice. The model on the left is actually my main reference for MK, so there’s absolutely no shame in using them when needed for your art. Punch anyone who says otherwise

I finally made an OFF art, and tried out some new things at the same time. I think it turned out pretty fine :D

It's 4am and I'm currently trying not to wake up my partner by losing my shit over this ai exchange where I pretended to be Luigi who told Mario he was in love with Bowser.
This is the rest of the entire exchange at the request of my fiance
