Oh yeah, I started my first attempt at binding a fic yesterday afternoon!! Inspired by @ehcahache’s posts last week. 🥰

The signatures are currently resting under three hardcover illustrated editions of various Tolkien books, and once they’re compressed enough I’ll start sewing them together.

The signatures got left under a bunch of heavy books for a few days because I got busy, but they’re much flatter now!

I stitched them together with some waxed thread and now they’re going back under the heavy books for a little while so I can order the rest of my supplies. Some of the edges don’t line up perfectly on the top and bottom, so I may get a (paper) guillotine or look for another option, I’m still not sure.

also this is part of a disturbing but sadly not uncommon attitude that progress = women (specifically women most of the time) showing more skin. because not showing skin is "following irrational religious modesty mandates" like the man on twitter says

somehow being progressive and secular automatically means putting women's bodies on display (although of course these people would shame women showing that much skin because they chose to). gee, I wonder why...
