“ uh — okay, so i can tell you to do anything and you’ll do it? just like that? ” alberto pressed a finger to his chin, thoughtful and confused all at once. he didn’t really understand any of this, but at the same time… maybe he shouldn’t question it too hard. if she wanted to do that, then what was the big deal, right? still, maybe it was best to test it.

“ can you… stand on one leg, pull a weird face and wave your arms around? ”

She nodded in agreement. Listening to his request she hummed in thought. It seemed simple enough and pearl in this state didn’t know the meaning or feeling of embarrassment so she simply complied with his request. Standing on one leg. Luckily as a pearl she had good balance. Then making a face where her eyes looked crazy as she stuck her tongue out and flapped her arms around like a bird.

The gem did a little curtsey and then a bow before looking at the supposed human in the eye. “Your pearl.” She stated matter of factly before taking a few steps towards him. “You’re the one that brought me into this world so that means I’m yours. I believe you stated your name was alberto. Is that what you wish I call you?”

yeah, it was official, he had absolutely no clue what this lady was talking about, or how she’d appeared out of the shiny stone that he’d found. none of this made any real sense to him, and he slowly pushed himself out from behind the rock once he realized that things at least seemed relatively safe.

“ um.. – yeah. i’m alberto scorfano, but like, whatever. ———— what do you mean, you’re mine? what does that even mean, exactly? ”

what just happened?

alberto had picked up the weird shiny rock on the beach because it had looked pretty, and he liked collecting things, it was part of what he did! he’d intended to take it up to his tower and store it with the other rocks he’d collected over time, but before he’d reached the tower, the rock had started to glow and float into the air. before he knew it, some.. woman was stood there, and alberto ducked behind a large boulder, peeking over it slowly.

“uh — you’re my new.. what?”

Okay so pearl would get pretty attached to him and would get separation anxiety when he goes to play with his friends, go into town or go to the school. This would be her reaction when he’s about to leave.

But also when he does leave that’s when she starts watching tv learning how to be like a human mother. She takes inspiration from several sitcoms. She ends up reforming with the appearance of a 50′s housewife. Like I imagine when she poofs he doesn’t know what that means.

So he just keeps her gemstone around. Hoping she comes back but also really dreading the idea that she might be dead. When she reforms he’s super emotional and just just really comforts him. Gaining real emotion and empathy for her son. She also definitely got poofed protecting him. Either from a bully or gem monster.

Also him calling her mama pearl. At first he accidentally calls her mama without meaning to. Then he corrects it to pearl. Then eventually over time he just calls her mama pearl. She thinks it’s her new name at first but then she realizes it’s just his name for her.

Here’s an idea! Alberto finding pearl’s gemstone on the beach. So he picks it up and carries it around in his pocket cause it’s pretty. Maybe he thinks it’s good luck? Before you know it she’s reforming one day. Scaring the hell out of him. She intends to be his servant but instead she ends up taking care of him like a mom would. Kinda in an alien way. She can see he needs to be taken care of and she’s kinda copying human mothers and the ones she sees on tv sitcoms.
