Okay! Reblogging because no one posted any prompts. So I figured I would try again. You know, if say first you don't succeed and all that. This time I will go first!

Here is my prompt: The Perseverance Rover AI becomes sentient and realizes that it is alone in space and on Mars from where it can never return to Earth. During it's mission it begins to communicate it's anxiety, not in words but in sound. Sound communicated in numbers that a late night researcher translates into musical notes.

Opening Gambit: "There is something significantly wonderful when as a scientist you reach a moment of true discovery, and something equally gut wrenching when you realize that your new found understanding has come too late. That the awful price of creation is ultimately that all things will die without knowing why they exist. Only a few of us human beings will have the opportunity to begin to accept the inevitably of our demise in relationship to the passing of measured time; the irremediable wearing down of our body and mind; the loss of a family or friend; the change in the seasons. But in all of this our connection to the world around us if we're open and willing should deepen as they know they are not alone in this fate. Never alone. Which is not the case with Perseverance Rover who in the solitude in the vacuum of space must come to this realization alone."
