Stick it to Him, 2016

Stick it to Him is an interactive zine commenting on the sexual allure of cars and machinery while growing up in an American society. In my childhood, I would often become attracted to racing games and Hot Wheels cars not because I was necessarily interested in cars, but because the imagery and branding around them was so powerful and attractive. Later, as my sexuality progressed, I found a disconnect between the attraction to those cars and my attraction to boys. Stick it to Him illustrates my confusion by portraying a dystopian connection between these elements while trivializing them by making the images into stickers, a childlike approach to a complex phenomenon.
