Intro post

Hello!

This is a blog for anonymous (or not, if you are comfortable) asks about Mcqruise and related films/fandoms/topics.

The idea is if you have something to say or ask, but want to do it anonymously, don't want to post it on your own blog or have a question you don't know who specifically to ask, then you could send it here.

I might not give an answer but I will post it and anyone can reply, and I might tag people if relevant. I would be acting more as a messenger than a bastion of knowledge.

Part of my reason for making this is having seen so many posts asking questions, giving ideas, and trying to find info but being ignored (accidentally) because they're posts aren't seen for one reason or another.

So think of this as a sort of catch all place for miscellaneous things related to those fandoms. Especially for the stuff that maybe gets a bit lost.

And ideally people in these fandoms would occasionally check in here to help answer, but no pressure.

Mcqruise fic prompt

McQ being able to order Tom around/his opinion meaning soooo much to Tom straight away, and everyone including McQ being shocked.

Not super specific but something like, in one of their convos leading to them working together, or when they'd just started, something happens. Like they have a disagreement, Tom is being too intense, they have differing opinions, McQ, even jokingly, tells Tom to shut up. And Tom just instantly listens and hears him and agrees. And they do this w other people around. And everyone is really tense and worried what's gonna happen to McQ for being rude or for being blunt. (because this was arguably a peak of people being scared/freaked out by tom cruise)

And Tom just obeys him and agrees w him. And everyone around them being confused.

And maybe some more scenes of this happening at other times. Could be a 5 + 1 thing? (Valkyrie, jack reacher, rogue nation (when he first comes in to help), another mission movie maybe being assertive w stunts?, top gun maverick meeting or something. Like Chris doesn't fully realise at first that it's only him who gets this response from him, maybe he just didn't fully connect them or he's side eyeing but confused. And then the + 1 is him doing it intentionally (maybe sex...?)

This is pretty tropey and self indulgent but if anyone would be interested in writing smth like this....

I confess that I always feel scared posting anything McQruise because I happen to know the least about them (I believe in this fandom) and I don't want to know everything single little thing about them yet, I like knowing bits and pieces more about their collaborations. I don't want to fall into that dark hole where I "must know everything about them". I've already got enough issues to deal with.

I'm traumatized from following other celebrities to be honest.

That's so fair. In my experience retaining that bit of distance with the enjoyment makes your head clearer and more objective when discussing stuff. So not a bad thing. Also it's fun to slowly learn stuff and always know you have more to learn. Without necessarily ever learning it all. But knowing you could.

I mean you can't unknow something but you can choose to learn more and more. So not knowing it all gives you more options in a way.

I fear I know too much now though. I do feel like a surprising amount of it was accidentally oddly enough though, and like half of it is now general film knowledge and a renewed interest in film. But still. There's goods and bads to both.

And I completely get being weary of getting too into a celebrity because so many of them are shitty or you can go a bit too parasocial. I think for me the healthiest way to think about it feels like thinking of the versions I'm of thinking of as their clones, not them. Or a character inspired by them, not them. If that makes sense? Parasocial relationships and rpf cross a line for me when people start acting like they know everything about the person and that them differing from that is wrong. We need to remember we don't know everything, and that's a good thing
