HEALTHCARE AS IT EFFECTS THE AMERICAN WIX COMMUNITY
Across the wix community, all individuals enjoy free healthcare. Every year, as an individual files their taxes, the funding for this system is gathered, and their information is updated as necessary if any matters have changed since the last year. Those within higher tax brackets will pay a copay on treatments, based upon their income, while those living on lower incomes generally receive care at no cost. Those who pay no cost are the vast majority, as the threshold for copayments is quite high.
In each state, there is at least one hospital, though states with a greater population may have multiple in order to serve the larger community. Any sickly wix may simply apparate onto the premises and receive immediate care. Wix may also schedule appointments for regular screenings. Once every two years, beginning on an individual’s 30th year, every wix receives a full health screening to check for any advancing ailments and address upcoming concerns. Since this program began, we have begun to see a great fall in progressing illnesses, though these results are only preliminary at this point. Children are also expected to make yearly visits, in order to receive inoculations. This is mandatory in all states across the country, except in medical exemption cases, regardless of whether said children attend public educational institutions or otherwise. Every year, statistics from each hospital are gathered and reviewed by the relevant government institution in order to maintain a consistent quality of care regardless of income or area within the country.
In all public educational institutions, there is at least one healer on staff. There is a range on how many individual healthcare professionals may be at any one institution, based upon the population of said school. Each year, the effectiveness of these healthcare providers is assessed in order to be certain that students are receiving the most effective care possible so as their education may remain uninterrupted. At larger institutions, there may be a resident healer, or a healer-in-training learning how to effectively serve a school system. These individuals are assessed on a monthly basis in order to ensure their progress.
PHARMACEUTICALS AND PHARMAPOTIONEERS
Pharmaceutical companies are negotiated with directly by the government in order to ensure the low cost of healthcare. Any newly introduced potion, medical device, or treatment is thoroughly assessed through controlled and peer reviewed research before it is ever released to the public. Newer treatments, medical devices, or potions are routinely assessed through user feedback, both by healers and individuals receiving such medical treatments, etc.
Pharmaceutical companies seek to advance treatment methods to be more effective through the development of potions. Potions have been proven to provide the best healthcare outcomes in terms of more serious injuries or conditions. These are meant to either be more effective, or to limit the existence of side effects for users. Trials for most new treatments span across many years, the majority of which do not reach consumers due to failing to meet the government’s high standards for effective treatment.
There are a multitude of differing companies, which exist across a variety of states who have given such companies great tax breaks in order to encourage their operation. Trials for new drugs are often performed on creatures long before they are ever tried on Wix. Once a drug trial begins on humans, it is rigorously analyzed for safety. If it fails to maintain safety standards, the trial is immediately ended, and the trial is scrapped entirely. Such failed trials are, of course, recorded for the purposes of knowing what compositions do not work.
HIGHER EDUCATION FOR HEALERS
Anyone seeking to become a Healer will attend an appropriately accredited higher education institution for approximately four to six years. If a Healer intends to specialize in a discipline or has aspirations to become a Head Healer of a hospital or care facility, this may require an additional two years as a minimum.
However, in a standard career path, after the four to six years to obtain their Healer’s license, they are then expected to act as a Healer-In-Training in their preferred setting for a minimum of two years. After this training period is finished, said healer is welcome to apply for positions as a full time Healer and given all the same responsibilities as any other.
Aspiring pharmapotioneers must attend an accredited higher education institution for approximately four years in order to receive certification. They may then apply for positions at individual hospitals, generally making simpler potions necessary for the hospital to have continually on hand, or with a private Pharmaceutical company. Individual companies have varying policies, though most new pharmapotioneers are generally not given way to engage in their own tests for at least the first five years. As trials are often costly to run, with an incredible fail rate, these matters are best left to more experienced pharmapotioneers.
