Sky's story(mcyt Monster au)
Sky’s story ~16 years ago~ A little boy was cowering in the corner of the orphanage, tears falling down his face as quiet whimpers echoed in his room. He was confused; why wasn’t his mommy and daddy here? Did they leave him? Why weren’t they there? The sudden sound of a door opening snapped him out of his thoughts, and he looked over at the door, where he saw an older boy, about six years older than him, staring at him.
He had black hair, dark brown eyes, olive skin, he was wearing a normal black t-shirt, shorts, and an amulet around his neck.
He gave the four year old a smile. “Hello, it’s nice to meet you. Why are you crying?”
The boy sniffled. “M-my mommy a-and d-daddy are g-gone.” He let out another weep.
The older boy walked over to him, a sympathetic smile on his face. “What’s your name?”
“A-Adam.” he sniffled again.
The boy sat next to Adam. “That’s a nice name, Adam. I’m Taylor, but people call me Ant.”
“A-Ant, where d-did m-my mommy and d-daddy go?”
Ants smile fell, and he pulled Adam into a hug. “I’m sorry, Adam, but I don’t think they’re coming back anytime soon.”
Adams eyes widened. “W-what do you m-mean?” He looked up at Ant with innocent eyes.
Ant sighed. “T-they may not come back right n-now, but how about y-you play with the o-other kids, so they’ll be h-here faster.” He gave Adam an uneasy smile.
“B-but what if they come w-when I’m gone?”
“Don’t worry…..I’ll let you know when they’re here.” Ant wiped Adams tears off with the bottom of his shirt. “Just stop crying, little buddy.”
Adam looked at him with puffy eyes and a small smile. “Thanks,Ant!” He gave him a quick hug, and sped off out the door.
Ant sighed again and looked at the ground. “Why did I do that?” He put his face in his hands. “I shouldn’t have given him false hope.”
~Time skip: Four years later~ Adam was sitting on a tree in the back of orphanages playground, looking up at the sky. The tree lightly shook as Ant sat on the branch next to Adam, the fourteen year old slightly out of breath.
“Man, I can’t climb a tree like I used to little buddy.” When Adam didn’t respond Ant looked where he was staring. “What’re you lookin’ at little buddy?”
“Just the sky,"Adam muttered.
"Oh, I didn’t take you for the cloud gazing type, little buddy,” he joked.
Adam turned to Ant and shoved him playfully. “I’m not!” he chuckled.
“Hey!"Ant struggled to regain his centre of gravity. "Don’t do that!” He was laughing though.
“That’s what you get.” Adam turned back to the sky. “It’s just calming, okay?”
Ant turned toward the sky “Yeah… I guess it kinda is."Ant suddenly turned back towards Adam. "Y'know, you’re kinda like my sky.”
Adam turned and stared at him. “What does that mean?”
“It means…… you calm me down, if I’m panicking I just think of you and suddenly I feel better, I should just call you Sky.” Ant smiled down at him. “It has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?”
Adam let out a small laugh. “Yeah, I guess it does.”
Ant pulled Adam into a hug. “You’re like the little brother I never had, Sky. I care way too much about you.” His face became serious. “I would die for you.”
Before Adam could respond, a man’s voice pierced the air. “Play times over kids, come back in!” It was one of the caretakers, Mr. Smith.
Ant sighed and pulled away from the hug. “Let’s go, Sky.”
They both climbed down the tree and walked back to the orphanage. Ants words lingered in the back of Adam’s mind. “I would die for you.”
~Time skip: Four more years later~ Adam was sleeping in his bed, quiet snores escaping his mouth. A sudden shake made his eyes snap open. He looked around blearily and he locked eyes with someone.
“Ant?” He mumbled out. “What’s going on?”
Ant looked down at him. “Pack your bags Sky, we’re leaving.”
Adam suddenly snapped to attention. “W-what?”
Ant sighed. “I said we’re leaving, I have a place that we can go.”
“B-but Ant, why are we leaving?”
“Because, they said I couldn’t adopt you when I move out, and I can’t just leave you here.” Ant started to pack Adam’s bags. “So we’re running away.”
“A-Ant that’s-that’s crazy!” Adam looked at him. “It’s not like I’ll be alone, the other kids are here.”
Ant looked at him with a desperate look. “C'mon, Adam. Please do this with me!”
Adam suddenly sighed “Okay-okay, just stop freaking out.”
After a few minutes of packing, Ant opened the window. “Let’s go!”
Adam crawled out the window carefully, thank goodness his room was on the first floor. After Ant got out, they both walked out of the alley next to the orphanage. With quiet steps they both made their way to the edge of the barrier.
Then, “Hey! Who are you? State your purpose!”
They both stopped in their tracks, Adam turned to Ant and whispered, “W-what do we do?”
“Run!” Ant whispered-yelled.
They both took off sprinting.
“Stop!”
After running for a few minutes the sudden sound of an arrow going off pierced the air, Adam turned to Ant and gasped. He had an arrow in his chest, a fatal spot. Adam thought quick and hid them both in a bush, the sound of running slowly quieted.
He turned to Ant, with fear in his eyes. “A-Ant are you o-okay”
Ant looked up at him. “I-I turned for one s-second, and t-this happened.” When Ant saw Adam’s eyes were full of tears, he brought the sleeve of his hoodie up and wiped the tears off. “H-hey, hey Sky i-it’s okay. It’s not y-your fault, it’s m-mine.” He coughed up some blood.
Adam looked down at him. “N-no, please d-don’t leave m-me.”
“H-hey, I can’t e-exactly promise t-that but,” he grabbed his amulet and pulled it off his neck, golden spots appearing all over his skin. “I c-can give y-you t-this.” He handed Adam the amulet.
Adam looked down at it with teary eyes. “N-no Ant t-this is yours, not m-mine!”
“Heh, c-consider it a f-family heirloom, b-bro.”
Adam took the amulet and put it around his neck. “I-I’ll guard it w-with my l-life.”
Ant looked up, the glow in his eyes slowly dying. “I k-knew you w-would.” Tears started to develop in his eyes. “H-hey remember the s-song about y-your sunshine?”
Adam nodded his head.
“C-can you s-sing it for m-me? You sing r-really good.”
Adam nodded his head again and started singing.
You are my sunshine,my only sunshine~
You make me happy Adam hiccuped lightly when skies are gray~
You’ll never know,dear~
H-how much I love you~
Please don’t take my sunshine a-away~
Adam looked down at Ant, and saw that his eyes were closed. “A-Ant?!” He pressed his ear to Ants chest. “No-no-no!” He hugged Ants corpse close, tears freely leaving his eyes. He got up and ran, and he never looked back.
~Time skip: Five years later~ Sky walked around in the forest next to his his adopted family’s house, he was thinking quietly to himself.
After a few minutes, he heard a voice in the distance. “H-hello…”
His curiosity got the better of him and he ran towards the sound of the voice, he crouched behind a tree and saw a monster that was just the galaxy.
He accidentally steeped on a twig and the being turned around. “H-hello? Who is there?”
Sky walked out from behind the tree. “Who wants to know?” he spat out.
The beings “eyes” slightly widened. “H-hi I’m…….” The being seemed confused on its own name.
“What’s wrong with you?
The being looked upset. "I-I’m sorry I-I can’t remember.” The voice was shaky, like the being was about to cry.
Sky’s eyes softened. “Hey,don’t cry…..thing.”
The being stepped closer to Sky with caution. “I’m sorry…..”
“N-no it’s okay,” Sky muttered under his breath. “Jeez.”
“I know I-I’m strange.”
Sky let out a slight laugh. “If you call that strange, you haven’t seen anything yet.”
The being looked at him confused “What do you mean?”
Sky put a hand on his amulet, and slowly pulled it off. Golden spots that looked like glitter appeared all over his skin.
The being looked at him in awe. “That is so amazing!”
Sky looked at the being. “Do you remember…..anything?”
The being quickly shook its head. “No…”
Sky suddenly got an idea. “Hey, wait here.” And he ran off.
The being stood and waited for him to come back.
After about ten minutes, Sky came back with a necklace. He quickly went over to the entity and slipped the necklace on it.
Slowly the being changed form and what stood there was a short young man with fluffy brown hair, light blue eyes, a galaxy sweater, jeans, and light blue sneakers.
Sky blushed slightly. “Wow……”
The male looked up at him. “W-what?”
“You look……nice.” Sky coughed. “Anyways,we should give you a name.”
“What’s a name?”
“Uh, it’s what you call people,” Sky explained. “Like when you’re talking to someone you need to call them something.”
The male nodded. “I see.”
Sky thought for a moment before he snapped his fingers. “Let’s call you Jason!”
“Hm, that’s a nice name.” Jason smiled. “Why are you helping me?”
Sky shrugged. “Well, you can’t really remember anything, so I put as my duty to help you.” De looked over towards his house. “Now, let’s go to my house.”
Jason looked at Sky, confused. “Why?”
Sky sighed. “Because you need somewhere to go. I’m sure my family wouldn’t mind.”
“What’s family?”
Sky stopped in his tracks. “W-what?” He turned around. “Don’t you have a family?”
Jason shook his head.
“Well a family is people that you love.”
“Okay.” Jason still didn’t understand, but he could wait.
They started to walk silently to the house. “Hey, what’s your name?”
Sky looked forward. “Call me Sky.”
~Present Day~ Sky walked down the street, his hands in his pockets, and a pissed off expression on his face. After a few more minutes of walking he made it to his apartment complex, and went to the seventh floor. He walked down the hallway and took out his key, opening the door to his apartment. He was greeted with the sight of Jason looking out the window.
He smiled. “Whatcha doing, Jay?”
“Looking at the stars.”
Sky snuck up behind Jason and picked him up, a squeal left the latter’s mouth. Sky left kisses all over his face, laughing whilst doing so.
He dropped Jason back on the couch and snuggled up to him. “I love you so much Jay.”
Jason wrapped his arms around Sky. Giggling he said, “I love you too.”
Sky gave Jason a peck on the lips and cuddled up with him, looking at the tv he said, “I missed you.”
Jason laughed. “Are you talking to the tv or me?”
“Hmmmmmm, why can’t it be both?” He had a goofy smile on his face.
Jason let out another giggle. “Do you remember when we got together?”
Sky thought for a moment. “It was two years agoooooooooh…shit”
Jason smirked. “Don’t worry,I don’t mind.” He suddenly went and snatched something from the coffee table. “Buuuuut, I got you something~”
Sky suddenly jumped up, eyes shining. “Ooooh, what is it?!”
“Close your eyes.”
Sky huffed, but complied. “Okay, okay jeez”
Suddenly something was pulled around his wrist. “Okay, you can open them”
Sky opened his eyes and looked down at his wrist, where a dark blue bracelet with a star was fastened. “Wow!”
Jason looked at him with a blush. “How do you like it?”
Sky gave him a grin. “I love it, Jay!”
Sky pulled him into a long, gentle kiss. Once they pulled away giggles went through the air as the couple laid on the couch with blushes and goofy grins.
