I watched the whole debate and idk what a user called “justsomeantifas” is doing making a post that is so obviously biased in trump’s favor. Several of these points are mostly if not completely wrong.
“2 old men yell at each other over the shit they both did” - somewhat true; biden criticized trump for things he definitely did. He raised his voice when trump attempted to speak over him. Trump yelled at biden for a couple things he did, and a lot of things that he didn’t actually do at all. There were multiple moments where he conflated Biden’s words and actions with his son’s, Obama’s, and even Hillary Clinton’s.
“Trump gets softball question to condemn proud boys…” - this is true, but also kind of softens how terrifying trump’s answer is. You really have to watch it.
“Both candidates and the moderator scream at each other for 5 minutes straight. Nothing is coherent.” - false. There was a lot of trump and biden screaming at each other, and trump argued with the moderator a lot about his allotted time and being told to let biden speak. Biden never screamed at or argued with the moderator, and thanked him multiple times. The moderator said himself that trump was the one causing the problems by doing the majority of interrupting.
“Trump tells his people to harass voters at the polls” - true. Not much to be said here.
“Biden screams about not supporting the green new deal and loving cops” - mostly true. Biden shouts in both instances because trump is attempting to talk over him. He did shout about loving cops. Edit: I initially wrote that biden never said he didnt support the GND, thinking this was referring to a different part of the debate. I have since found the clip in question. He initially says he supports it, but when pressed by the moderator, switches to “I dont support that, I support the Biden plan.” Idk why he flip flops here. It is stated calmly however
“Moderator serves no purpose, doesnt fact check, cant mute mics, gets dunked on” - false. The moderator fact checks trump multiple times, trump just ignores him. He also manages to get trump in line for a bit at one point. He does, however, get dunked on.
“Mostly boring, we’re all fucked”. - true.
I havent looked at OP’s blog so I genuinely don’t know if they just didnt pay much attention to the debate or if they’re genuinely some sort of crypto-centrist trying to make trump sound less bad and biden sound worse… but either way this post does a terrible job recapping the actual dynamic that went on during the debate which was trump frothing at the mouth barking like a rabid dog while biden stood there as a confused old man looking to the equally helpless moderator for assistance.
