The above pictures are from Northern Ontario and Northern Manitoba. We drove from Sudbury to Sault St. Marie, then headed on the northern coast of Lake Superior to Thunder Bay. (The most breathtaking drive, so much scenery!!) From Thunder Bay we drove to Kenora, which brought us to the Manitoba border. In Manitoba, we swam in Lake Winnipeg and Lake Manitoba (highly recommend both!) The waters were wavey, shallow and murky due to the immense amount of clay. The colour of the water was beige, which contrasted beautifully with the unreal sunsets of pinky/orangy/purply hues we were lucky to witness. 

We are now in Saskatoon figuring out where we want to go for the next couple days as we approach Edmonton.

Our next stop was Burlington, NL. This was 2.5 hrs north east of Gros Morne and we were not prepared for the remoteness of this town. There was only one “restaurant” which was the Newfie Grab-N-Go (the trailer) which offered your standard burgers, fries, hot dogs, onion rings, you name it. As for grocery stores, that would have been back in either Cornerbrook or Deer Lake, which were both over two hours away. Regardless of the lack of food options, the scenery was so worth it. Icebergs like you wouldn’t believe! The women managing our accommodations said the night prior to our arrival, she had to wait for a group of NINETEEN moose to cross the street so she could get home. Insane. Sadly, we did not see any moose during our stay.

all photos are jumbled, but these are from when we were in Gros Morne National Park in Newfoundland. We stayed in this area for 2 nights and it was breathtaking. Our accommodations included a yurt and a rustic cabin, complete with a wood burning stove. I cannot put into words how outrageously amazing this place was, you’ve just gotta go.

Nova Scotia/PEI

We are wrapping up our week spent in Nova Scotia and PEI. The week flew by! This is a quick summary: - visited three of Canada's National parks (cape breton highlands, Prince Edward Island and kejimkujik) - stayed in a wilderness cabin - kayaked saint-Ann bay - ate oysters in malpeque at an art gallery - stayed on a farm - made our own goat cheese - fed baby goats - hung out with lobster fishermen and ate the freshest lobster Our flight from Halifax to deer lake is at 8am tomorrow so we are off to bed early tonight.
