The guilt of getting hurt over a wound you self-inflicted.
Predetermined Wrath
Born of a father named predetermined wrath. We try to deny, But even Jesus cannot escape the blood of His mother. We try so hard not to be the punchline—smiling through clenched teeth, We laugh with them to serve as shield For a battle we never volunteered for. A shield too useless, as their bullets still pierce. We fight for happiness, But how can one claim joy When love itself is already outlawed? Vindication is the ultimate justice that I'll never be granted. And yet, we love. We love despite defying the heavens, Like how Jesus rejected his most beautiful angel. The ultimate act of rebellion is also our ultimate salvation.
