No existing guardian remembers a time before Riodhr, nor do they remember when he first appeared. Believed to the the first of their kind, Riodhr was unlucky enough to be resurrected in an incomplete manner; it’s unknown if his eyes are missing due to decomposition prior to resurrection, an injury in the years that followed, or if the unknown nature of the forest itself failed to bring him back whole. His lack of sight affects him little, however, as he’s found other means to keep an eye on the forest.
Though Riodhr does not often leave his lair, he knows everything happening within and near the woods. The spiders of the forest serves Riodhr’s will, but none are so beloved as Persephone. Those who have seen her wonder if she herself is not resurrected as well, for she’s far too large and intelligent for the average arachnid, capable of traveling great distances in short periods of time and even acting as Riodhr’s eyes through magical means. Her pale coloring makes her stand out among her kind, yet she’s oddly difficult to spot unless she wishes to be seen.
Riodhr, like his companions, is quiet and deadly. His cunning personality makes him one of the most dangerous of the guardians. That being said, however, he isn’t without humor- dark as it may be.
His lair consists of one of the collapsed ruins deep inside the forest. The clearing is covered in rubble and webs and is as difficult to comprehend at times as Riodhr himself. It’s here that he spends most of his time, even completing his duties as a guardian from the comforts of his home through illusions and his eight-legged companions.
