The newest T. Magazine from Toho Cinemas has a new long interview with Boku No Hero Academia’s Horikoshi-sensei about the movie as well as the series! I will translate the entire interview, but in this passage, he clarifies how the movie is related to the manga! Enjoy~

 Interviewer: The movie contains an original story, but does it have any correlation to the current story in the serialized manga? 

Horikoshi: I always wanted to include a chapter about All Might’s past, or rather, I thought that I definitely NEED to write about his past. In the movie, the young All Might is shown studying abroad in America, and I thought this might not be something that could be brought up anymore in the actual manga story up until now, so I saw the movie as a chance to present this. Of course, without a doubt, the movie and manga are adjoined, and the movie is connected to the manga story that happens after it.

THINGS TO KNOW IF YOUR INTERESTED/DATING A SINGLE PARENT

-We’re not looking for a new mom/dad for our child

-Even if we like you, we may not tell you immediately. Not because we’re playing games but because as single parents we can't afford to just blurt it out

-We're not that broke, we don't want you for your money. We're saving it because maybe our child has a check up next month and we have a co pay, or maybe a even a birthday/holiday/other expense.

-We're not looking for a new mom/dad for our child

-Just because we have a child, doesn't mean we are suddenly side chick/fuck boy material. A lot of us don't want to just have sex.

-The single parents that are students can handle any amount of workload. Don't give us the lesser amount of shared work in the group project because you think we would be "too busy". Our children are not handicaps to our education We'll be okay.

-Not all of us have baby momma/daddy drama. Some of us handled it.

-We're not looking for a new mom/dad for our child We're not going to ask you to adopt said child. We have to get to know you and trust you. Don't expect to suddenly start picking up child from day care/school/going to family dinners/outings. You probably won't even meet them for a long time until after the relationship starts.

Also, don't tell a single parent something like "I would never date a single parent". At that point, even if we werent interested, we wouldn't even want to be your friend.
