S/o to the girls who never wear makeup, love yo natural clean faces
s/o to the girls who always wear makeup, love yo glowy cheekbones and sharp contoured faces
I mean like, in a time where contouring is synonymous with supporting european features and we convince girls with acne and skin disorders that they need to hide behind foundation, sometimes itâs okay to celebrate girls who are consistently made fun of. We all know how great makeup looks, we know how ethereal a good strobe looks, and itâs inconsiderate to take away positivity from girls embracing their mustaches, acne, thick brows and under eye circles. Make your own post if youâre that determined to defend what a billion dollar industry already tells us to do. Girls celebrating their faces and embracing their features isnât an inherent attack on those of us who do love cosmetics. And itâs sad to see this sour, defensive nonsense.Â
that terf feel when u see a male peacock trying to go into a female bathroom and u become violently enraged
Public discussion of abortion has come to inexorably privilege fetal life over female life. The imaginary futuresâthe âpersonhoodsââof the unborn have taken moral precedence over the adult women in whose bodies they grow. This is why public accounts of abortions are almost always accompanied with ample helpings of guilt and self-flagellation (âthe hardest decision of my life,â âsomething I still think aboutâ), lest the woman sound icy and immoral. In her excellent new book, Pro, a galvanizing call to reclaim abortion as a moral good, the feminist writer Katha Pollitt refers to this as the âawfulizationâ of abortion. Most people, no matter their politics, have absorbed some aspect of the right-wing narrative that abortions are uniformly harrowing and traumatic, when for many women they are brief events that leave no lasting mark. And so we need to make it clear that abortions are not about fetuses or embryos. Nor are they about babies, except insofar as they enable women to make sound decisions about if or when to have them. Theyâre about women: their choices, health, and their own moral value.
