At a friends insistence, I finally finished reading the Shadow and Bone Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo. Is anyone else looking forward to the Netflix show based on the Grishaverse?

"Tell me a wish. The stars always listen."
This painting is both my best work to date and my worst nightmare. I didn't want to work on it. I couldn't stay away. Paint. Erase. Redo. Repeat.
I am pleased with how it finally turned out though, so I decided to take the time to stage it in a pretty picture.
Practicing landscape painting again - this time with an assassin the the desert that may or may not have been inspired by my WIP novel.
Ever have those moments where you wondered what would happen if you were the main character of the book youāve been reading and absolutely adore? Ā Yup, me too!
And that got me to thinking about what would happen if I was in the Hunger Games instead of Katniss.
This portrait has been half finished for over two months, and I'm so SO happy to officially called it done.
Fanart of Eelyn from The Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young.
Finally put together a picture of my book haul from July. Twenty books total thanks to the Realm Makerās conference and the YMCA book fair in St. Louis.
Have any of you guys read one of these? What would you suggest I read first?
#qotd - Do you ever buy books and then proceed to not read them for like... years?
I bought the third book in the Princess Academy series by Shannon Hale approximately 1476 days ago (which sounds like a lifetime, but is really only 4 years.) FOUR YEARS. Why have I not read it yet? I still have no idea.
Yes, Iām still a little obsessed with Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young, and I couldnāt resist making quote art for the Aska clanās motto āHonor above life.ā
//Absurdly helpful for people writing royal characters and/or characters who interact with royalty and members of the nobility.

Citizen is simpler and more beautiful~ but just in case anyone needs this.
DUDE BUT THIS IS WHAT IāVE BEEN TRYING TO TELL PEOPLE
in medieval times you ONLY addressed a king/queen with āYour Majestyā, NEVER āYour Highnessā. Ā To address a king/queen with āYour Highnessā was considered an insult.
Hereās a more extensive list of titles and what you would call a person/their wife/their mother/their children
A fun character sketch commission I recently finished.
Favorite fairy tail? Favorite Disney princess?
Itās hard to choose a favorite fairytale. They are all equally strange and unusual in my mind, but I have whittled them down to my top four: Maid Maleen, The Goose Girl, East of the Sun West Of The Moon, and All-Kinds-Of-Fur.
As for a favorite Disney Princess, Iād have to say Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
ā( >o<)āI may be human who makes mistakes but I am not a mistake! Ā And neither are you! Ā Iām not sorry!!! Ā I am thankful for the people who support me!!!!!
HELLO THIS IS IMPORTANT AND PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT I LOVE ALL OF YOU SO MUCH
This latest illustration is a nod to the fairytale East of the Sun, West of the Moon which has always been a favorite of mine.
What are some of your favorite fairytales?
Have you ever accidentally borrowed a book from the library? I just did! Not only was borrowing Blood Water Paint a surprise, itās also not a genre I read much of. I decided to give it a try though and found the story surprisingly heavy and poignant.
Work in progress shot of an illustration Iām finishing up. Can you guess the fairytale? Hereās a clue: āļøšš»š¬
