Talia watched Sherlock’s face, almost close enough to watch the gears turning in his mind as he tried to figure out a puzzle that he hadn’t been given all the pieces to. The anger that crossed his features was something that she had almost expected, but the vampire wasn’t sure if the anger was directed at her, or the fact that he hadn’t noticed the obvious sooner.
“You know what I am, Sherlock.” she stepped closer and uttered the answer in a husky voice. ”Vampire.”
"Clearly." He responded. As if, only a moment ago, he hadn't been struggling and knew all along. The information disturbed him; not only did it defy everything he had grown to understand, but he was no longer certain about Talia. Dare he say it, he had began to consider her a friend, but he now knew she's a vampire. So, it would be rather awkward if the person he considered to be a friend considered him to be a meal.
He leaned slightly, but did not step away. He didn't know whether or not he should be afraid, but Talia was awfully alluring. Perhaps it was because she was alluring, he didn't listen to his better judgement and step away.
"I have no one to blame but myself for being unaware of it, yet I have to wonder why you never told me sooner. By tell me sooner, I mean attack me. That's what your lot does, isn't it?" He seemed calm and collected, despite everything. He masked fear very well.
Benedict Cumberbatch » Sherlock S3.
John scowled at him, but it didn’t really reach his eyes. Damn the man. He passed off the tea cup and took his laptop from the others reach and sat down in his chair, tea being set aside. “The last time I tossed out something of yours that it thought was done procreating inside our fridge, you threatened some none to nice things on my half being and you began to sulk. No, you did sulk. And for a week. I was almost convinced I had to connect a drip to that skinny arm of yours to keep nourishment in you, you prat.”
His fingers flew over the set of keys that would put in a new password and smiled in his own self satisfaction that Sherlock would not be able to figure this one out. Because it really was so obscure that he would have to write it down himself to remember it.
“So any new cases besides the ears that are being tossed out immediately?” He shut his laptop with a more gentle manner than Sherlock did before and set it on the coffee table, head titled up in mannerisms that he was, in fact, very curious to what Sherlock was going on about next.
While no longer distracted by the anonymous message left on his blog, Sherlock was left with nothing interesting to do. As usual, he seemed bothered by this. He stepped toward the window of his and John's apartment, acting as though he wasn't listening to a single word John was saying. However, Sherlock did in fact listen to John, but had many other things on his mind too.
Unbeknownst to the doctor, the detective had managed a small smile when called a prat. Sherlock could have defended himself; he could have told John that tossing an experiment out was the complete opposite of setting it somewhere else (away from the food) or he could have countered his name-calling, but Sherlock didn't find it necessary (besides, he hadn't been offended - what John had said was humorous). So, he continued to act as if he wasn't paying any attention to his flatmate, a single finger tapping soundlessly against the side of the teacup John had brought him.
"No." Sherlock's answer came almost immediately, his tone quite dull because his lack of work. He turned a bit in order to glance behind himself and at John. "To both," He began when his eyes had settled upon him and before John could interrupt, should he even try to, Sherlock carried on with, "No, there is not a new case and no, I'm not tossing the ears out. I've almost completed my analysis on them; so, I kindly ask that you leave them be. Surely buying yourself a fresh bag of tomatoes will not prove too difficult a task for you, John." His lip twitched, humor hidden within the dark eyes that lingered upon his flatmate.

Talia felt the ghost of his lips along her ear and she couldn’t hide the shiver that raised goosebumps along her skin. How easy it would be to turn her head and take what he was so playfully offering. Nothing would silence the detective faster than a kiss that he hadn’t expected, but the realization of his hand on her wrist tore the thought from her mind. Feeding made an almost human pulse in her body, but for now her veins stayed as still as the grave.
“I-I…” Talia began, unable to hold his gaze for much longer than a few seconds before taking two steps back from him. This was it. He knew. And now the games were going to come to an end. ”I can explain.” she murmured finally, keeping her head ducked but eyes trained on his.
At first, it was as if Sherlock hadn't heard a single word she said. His mind was working and it was working fast, taking facts and piecing them together like a puzzle. Still, he couldn't seem to understand what was happening, because he dare not let himself jump to the conclusion of supernatural existence. He refused to believe in it; yet Talia could easily fit the bill.
He looked upset; angry, rather. His trying to figure things out on his own brought on a terrible headache and if Sherlock Holmes hated anything, it was hating something he couldn't bring himself to understand. So, although he appeared upset with her, he was mainly upset with himself. Why hadn't he noticed these things about her sooner?
"Yes, please do." It was sort of snapped, his eyes narrowing as if he half-expected her to lie to him.
In my dreams still I see your vacant eyes, they’re haunting me.
((Bah, it is a pleasure to have you back! Welcome dear, welcome back!))
[ Is this even an appropriate gif?! LOL, smiley face, kiss kiss, hug. ♥ I miss youuu and your fabulous writing. Thank you for the welcome back! I could make a terrible Sherlock joke and say I took a fall, but nah. I'll leave that out, haha. ]
Holy crap. I haven't been here in... well... a long time. /:
Edit: May or may not do some revamping. Although I will say I miss writing as Sherlock, or as I've described to many of you "pretending to sound smart", haha. Most importantly, I MISS ALL OF YOU. ♥
meant-to-fall started following you
“Sherlock.” John’s voice echoed through the small flat as he muddled about with a cup of tea in each hand. “Sherlock, there are four pairs of ears in the fridge. We agreed body parts are only to be on the third shelf, and only if they are in the cake boxes. The ears have been next to the tomatoes for three days now.” John’s walk stopped in the sit-in and set down his cup of tea before looking over Sherlock’s shoulder, looking at the small computer screen that Sherlock was busily typing away on. Not to mind that it was John’s laptop, no. No he was used to that now, or so he had told himself.
As to be expected, Sherlock refused to answer John - at first. He was aware John had complained about his experiment, had brought him a cup of tea, and stood just behind him, but Sherlock was far too concerned with the anonymous message left on his blog. He was speaking quietly beneath his breath as he typed, but his words would be meaningless to someone like John, as he was discussing another experiment he had finished a week ago. Only when he was certain he had gotten his point across to the person who had dared to question his theory, he reached up and closed the laptop with a sharp snap.
"I borrowed your laptop. A bit annoying of you to change the password." He pointed out, reaching for the tea John had brought him before standing out of the chair. "Oh," He paused, turning to John with a look of confusion. "If you had known for three days the ears were next to the tomatoes, why didn't you move them yourself? Come now John, you're smarter than that." He couldn't help the smirk that followed.

Sherlock had been missing for three days straight. Nothing horrible had happened to him, mind you. He left a note to John explaining he would be gone, working, but didn't bother to include how long it would take him. Honestly, Sherlock figured John would just assume it was a case difficult enough to suit Sherlock's fancy and would understand if it took him longer than a day. Not everyone thought the way Sherlock did - not even John. Alas, after approximately 92 hours, 18 minutes, and 13 seconds (in counting), a cab pulled to the curb just outside 221B and parked behind another cab. Out stepped Sherlock, clearly thrilled he had solved another case. It was evident in the way he grinned to himself and smoothed out his coat. He took note of the second cab when he climbed the steps to his apartment and entered the building. He jogged up the next flight of stairs, threw open the door, and exclaimed, "Six, John!"
"There were six digits in Ms. Loveen's security code, not five! She was good; oh, she was, but not good enough. I would have dropped the case if there hadn't been that last--..."
The detective's speech came to an abrupt halt, all enthusiasm draining from his expression and composure. He stared his flatmate down, ignoring the look of outrage turning within John's gaze. It had taken only 30 seconds for Sherlock to piece everything together; the second cab, John's ironed clothing, his cleanly shaved face, and the lingering, but distinct smell of cologne. Oh, and the pacing. Sherlock had walked in on John pacing the sitting room; he only ever did that when he was nervous. John had a date tonight. That explained a lot of things, obviously, and it most certainly explained why Sherlock had lost all his enthusiasm regarding the case he had solved. Sherlock didn't like when John wasted his time on his ridiculous hobby known as dating; of course, John treated it like it was a religion more than anything.
The detective worked fast, so although John was clearly about to scold him, Sherlock spoke first. Rather, he cut John off. "You've got another pointless date tonight, I see." He gestured to John's entirety giving a roll of his eyes afterward. "Who is it this time, hm? The woman you saw gardening a week ago? The cashier at the market? No, no. You can surely do better than those two. Must be the waitress who was practically drooling over you, but couldn't have you because of the date with Joy that night. Before you ask, yes, I was there that night, but I wasn't spying. I just happened to be in the area, because of a case. No matter who you've chosen this time, I give it two weeks before you realize the gardener is dating another woman, but probably took pity on you and is going to explain over dinner. The cashier is an alcoholic and the waitress flirts with any man willing to pay her any attention." When he finally came to a stop, he shrugged off his coat, hung it, and turned calmly to face John once more. Prepared for John's rage, but unprepared for the argument that might follow. "Oops. Spoiler alert." He added flatly, tone dripping with sarcasm.
