Trail Canyon is absolutely gorgeous! It's an easy 4.5 miles round trip to the waterfall, and if you're feeling like a loooong one you can follow the trail all the way back to the condor peak trail where you can summit either condor peak or iron mnt #2. The waterfall is an easy hike, the rest... Well let's just say, wear long pants and shirts and bring tons of water. It's beautiful but hard work (15 miles!) If you live in LA and haven't hiked around in Griffith Park you are missing out. It is a stunning place to hike, and incredibly interesting to see how nature and city meet up to create this beautiful space 🏞

The Devils Punchbowl County Park is full of amazing trails to fill your day!! We did the 7.5 mile trek to The Devils Chair and the gorgeous 1 mile loop trail that lets you walk in the middle of all the gorgeous bizarre rock formations created by the fault lines that run through this area. The nature center there also has lots of great information about the area that is worth checking out!

Just playing around over on Josephine Peak, Josephine Saddle, and the constant want to scramble up Strawberry Peak! This whole area is lots of fun to explore. Fantastic vistas with views to long beach on a clear day. Not much in the way of shade unfortunately, so hit the trail early :) http://www.modernhiker.com/2007/02/13/hiking-josephine-peak/

New Mexico does not disappoint in the beauty arena!!! The hike up to the observation point at tent rocks plus the cave loop is only a 3.5 mile hike, but the INSANE views and rock structures you get to see make you feel like you are in a completely different world! http://www.blm.gov/nm/st/en/prog/recreation/rio_puerco/kasha_katuwe_tent_rocks.html

It is amazing what beauty you can find in Griffith Park right in the middle of Los Angeles. Miles upon miles of trails! If you time it right the sunsets are out of this world :)

Just about the most beautiful hike the San Gabriel Mountains have to offer: Bear Creek Trail in the San Gabriel Wilderness. It is amazing! But not for the beginner. The trail often disappears and you have to hunt around to get back on track. Someone at some point made little Rock towers to help point the way, but they get lost in all the wild! Bring LOTS of water and snacks. The elevation gain isn't intense but all the bouldering and river crossings will tire you out. http://www.summitpost.org/bear-creek-trail/281885 Moderate to difficult hike 10miles+ options to backpack and camp out there to get all 20miles in.

Got to see some crazy weather on the La Tuna Canyon fire road trail. It's a great spot to hike to the top and enjoy the views of the greater LA area! We were treated with some amazing clouds and showers! A little stream weaving through Bear Canyon in the San Gabriel Mountains. You can hike along this beautiful stream on the Bear Canyon Trail. It takes you to some waterfalls a few pools that you can jump in if it's warm enough :)

Hiking in the Angeles National Forest is such a treat! We were treated to breath taking views, tumbling waterfalls, and new blossoms popping up out of the ground. All in all the Bear Canyon/Switzer Falls hike is a wonderful easy to moderate hike that is worth the brief drive into the San Gabriel's for :) if you do just the hike to Switzer Falls it's about 3 miles if you keep going up through Bear Canyon you're looking at 8ish plus miles. A look back at one of the prettiest hikes Kauai has to offer its visitors! The Kalalau Trail is an 11mile trail all the way out to a gorgeous private beach, where most people camp and then turn around the next day. There is a day hike portion of the hike, and it's only 8miles round trip. You hike 2 miles up the Kalalau Trail and then veer left away from the coast up a 2 mile trail to a gorgeous waterfall with an amazing pool to swim in (a freezing treat after the crazy hike!).

It can be technical in areas, and very muddy! Bring a pair of shoes you don't mind leaving behind. Also be sure to check the trail conditions before you go, there are many times throughout the year that the trail isn't accessible.

Hiking on Kauai!! They say you can live here for years and hike everyday and still not see everything there is to see on The Garden Island!! We opted for the Nu'alolo Trail and it was worth every crazy step! With all the slippery mud this trail gets technical in a few spots, and the inclines are intense!!
