Another thing notable about Min is what Perrin says about her not liking her viewings being doubted. Min also tells Rand that she likes that he accepts what she tells him and doesnāt ask for more, and she is thrilled with the Aielās nonchalant acceptance of her viewings without treating her like a freak or trying to use her as a resource.
Elayne is just about the only non-Aiel person who has a similar attitude toward Min and her viewings.Ā When she introduces her to Egwene, she simply tells Egwene about Minās viewings without reservation or furtiveness, justĀ āhereās Min, this is a cool thing she does.ā Elayne accepts her wholeheartedly and innocently, like it doesnāt even occur to her that people might be creeped out by Min seeing their futures.Ā She also never argues with a Min viewing, unless you count her joking skepticism of the polygamy one.Ā Even Perrin, who is closer to Min than most, whom she loves like a brother, pushes her buttons with his doubts and questions.Ā Elayne, like Rand or the Aiel, has absolute faith in Min.Ā Once she begins dating Rand, Elayne is bothered by hints Min has given of viewings about sharing him, though Nynaeve and Egwene donāt take them as seriously, however strongly they would react to the reality of Rand being with more than one woman, but for Elayne, Minās viewings are not to be ignored or dismissed.Ā On the simple statement thatĀ Rand is bound to the three womenĀ āin some wayā Elayne is ready to suppress her monogamous values, because Min has said thatās necessary for being with Rand.Ā Most people would at least have askedĀ āAre you sure?ā to Minās annoyance.Ā
And by the time Min heads out with the embassy, whatever her private reservations, Elayne is making an effort to accept the sharing idea, affirming her friendship with Min in circumstances where they could not only be excused, but are expectedĀ to get into a fight.Ā Ā
Later in the series, though Min apparently doesnāt learn on the page, Elayneās faith in and acceptance of Minās viewings is a massive source of frustration to her inner circle. Even if Min never learns of Elayneās certainty of her survival, the fact that Elayne takes what Min knows as such an absolute is a consistent character trait that Min could well be aware of and as much a basis for her affection for Elayne as Elayneās gratitude that Rand respects her political acumen and takes her seriously.Ā
