POST ILLUSTRATION CRITIQUE SESSION (aka notes to self): - I gotta practice rendering forms (and rendering in general) + light/shadow/values + color theory... - I don't think I quite like how the brush I used for line art looks--more so out of dissonance from what I think I want my illustration style to look like than the tool itself - There's a more interesting composition out there... plan more before illustrating - How draw hand (my hand forms are off and stiff) and shoulder anatomy - How draw hair (not sure how to stylize and render) - How draw perspective (the arm going forward is off) - I definitely got impatient at the end, so it looks rushed and somewhat slapdash to me (definitely forgot some details) - Continue familiarizing with and refining illustration process!

+ wow hand in perspective!! + for something I made after taking a month and a half off, not bad for a reentry

#art reflection #i want to make it a thing for me to be open about how i think about my art #not to like belittle my art and skills or anything #but to show part of the process and that artists are human too!#growing up with social media... with the way social media is i formed a very stringent belief that artists #always knew what they were doing #and if i didn't and if it wasn't perfect then it was a mark of failure #BUT NEWS FLASH: NO ONE DOES!#so i hope that posting these self-critiques show that art and learning is an everlasting process! even pros don't think they're masters #there's always something to work on and i think that's actually kinda fun (now. thank u therapy)#reminder: growth and perfection cannot coexist! they contradict each other!
