Mermaids: The Body Found Written by Charlie Foley and Vaibhav Bhatt Produced by Darlow Smithson and Tom Brisley Aired on May 27, 2012
Most of the scientist's curiosities these days revolves outside the earth. They have a more throughout discoveries on what is outside of the earth than what is inside. For example, almost 1% to 5% of the ocean species has been revealed. What happened to the 95 % to 99%? The ignorance of the studies which involve around the ocean leaves many to have a hypothetical guess what creatures might be out there. The documentary "Mermaids: The Body Found" gives the evidence for the existence of one of the guessed undiscovered creatures of the ocean, the mermaids. In specific evidences said in the documentary, mermaids still attain an morph of an ape which bring forth the Aquatic Ape Theory which was confiscated from the researchers. The documentary aims to inform that humans might not be the only "humans" in the earth. As science proves that humans evolve from apes on lands, the Aquatic Ape Theory proves that mermaids evolve from apes in oceans. Thus, mermaids and humans came from the same ancestor. The documentary supports the theory through real life situations such as the Whale beachings, the "Bloop" sound recording found on different parts of the ocean, and the bones found inside the shark which were assembled by experts. In accordance to present the Aquatic Apes or mermaids, the documentary, as said previously, sets out a real life phenomenon which is later on point out to the mermaids. Scientist were used by the filmmaker to speak about the event that lead to their research. The "Bloop" recording found on the case of the Whale beachings is said to contain the actual mermaid's sound due to its unfamiliar sound waves. The bones found inside the shark's belly. And the mysterious spears found in fishes fishermen experience in Germany(?). These technique slowly introduces the evidence of the aquatic humanoids while providing another side of the story through animation and demonstration of the Aquatic Theory. It gives a realistic root of the said theory. The animation and demonstration of the possible evolution of the mermaids, however, gives a more throughout understanding how the mermaids come about. It gives a suppose image on how the mermaids lived and how they evolved into their liking. The claims and stories made by the scientist gives the documentary a concrete fact that the existence is true. The "Bloop" also as an realistic evidence because it was recorded on different oceans, all had the same mysterious sound alike. The confiscation of the research also looks natural due to the fact that maybe someone or the Navy is against the scientist's discovery. Or they might also know more about their research and don't want anymore evident puzzle piece in their discovery. The police also left the "Bloop" evidence behind for the fact that maybe the "Bloop" recording is the only true evidence the scientist had and all the others are fake. The spears found in the fishes prove that mermaids still attains the early humans' way of hunting. However, as these claims of the documentary appear realistic, the whole documentary is purely fiction, except for the "Bloop" recording. The scientist involved were professional actors. As observed, the "scientist" involved had great speech power and eye contact which actors are skillful about. The events, the research, the raid, and etc. where all just a hoax. Nevertheless, the "Bloop" recording proved otherwise since it led to the existence of the Aquatic ape Theory and the possible Whale beachings. It also lead to the bribe to research more about the ocean to uncover its mysteries. In conclusion, though the documentary is simply a hoax. It provide a question to its general viewers what might be the possible creatures of the ocean. The documentary could also persuade researchers to explore more about the ocean. Maybe in time being, science will prompt to research more about the ocean since they will uncover more and more secrets about it. The documentary also gives its viewers a glimpse of the Aquatic Ape Theory. As polar bears from grizzly bears adapt to the cold waters of the antartic, ape too could also adapt to the big waters. Mermaids and or many more mythical creatures might actually exist through further research in the future.
