If I had a nickel for every time a psychological thriller TV series had a villain who was a man in his 40s with grey hair (read: silver fox) born in the USSR, that also had a taste for expensive food, stylish suits and opera, hid his murderous nature, had sociopathic tendencies and was not straight, got caught and was incarcerated but later escaped, had an intense rivalry with the series' possibly autistic protagonist (who worked as a scientific consultant for an investigative department and tried to convict the said villain), which prompted them to try to kill each other multiple times (including by proxy), yet ended up killing someone alongside him, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
