I don’t wear styles—

I won’t shrink.

I won’t press myself flat for comfort.

I won’t twist myself into your idea

of what Black hair “should be.”

When I walk out, crown blazing,

I love being black, African-American woman I wouldn't want to be anything else other than this race but seeing how this world treats us despite the calling us and our ANCESTORS "lazy" why bc we refuse the discrimination and racism. I am raising a son and my biggest fear is getting that "call" You wake up and the world is at war but still have ample time to keep their feet on our neck. *Deep sigh* 😞
