OKAY, UH, so I am making a big official post about this, but I’m not done putting details and such together yet and it’s kind of just nagging me that I need to get this out(especially with this ACA debacle just reminding me of it) so…Here’s basically what’s going on with me lately.

Not technically a commission, however, it was my part in an exchange of product and creation. ^^
Way way back, @sillynekorobin was giving away some Sculpey stuff, and gave me a Sculpey starter kit, in exchange for a thing I would create with said kit. This is what I ended up making for her, a tiny little Daxter Ottsel!
-The rock is a bead that I found in one of Michael’s bead strings, and as the nerd I am, I thought they looked JUST LIKE DARK ECO CRYSTALS. So I used one of them to make a little point of interest on here. (It is actually dyed Agate of some sort)
- This was my first ever Sculpey creation. I gotta say I am super proud.
- I figured out how to make Precursor Metal with this project, which is the base.
-I would really love to make more ottsel Sculpeys if I can sit down and focus on the project. (also yes I have more of these little Dark Eco Crystals Rock Beads
-Acrylic craft paint was also used to make the lovely color variation that I love a LOT about the Jak and Daxter Universe.
I am extremely happy to say I am getting a lot of work done on this commission tonight
I am probably approaching the point where I should stop taking too many pics before I get the peice completed and to its owner. Just a principle of mine.
So I Am pretty much over due for making an official announcement about this, but YES I am going to Denver Comicon this year, with my hubby.
We’ll be there on Saturday, June 18th.
Will I be a vendor?: Unfortunately I still have not reached the point where I can be relevant at Comicon and have my own little table where I sell goods, HOWEVER. What I HOPE to do this time around is get more comfortable with the environment, ask a friend who I know is going to be there with her own set up about the biz and hopefully get a feel for it. My goal would be to get a table NEXT year, but here’s hoping that all this pans out and my night job doesn’t make me too dead.
Will I be cosplaying?: Likely not. Unless I decide to run with my Kiki cosplay that I did for Halloween, BUT an idea I am thinking more about is doing a Peridot-inspired outfit–Not an actual cosplay, (cause aint no one got time for that now) but a cute mock up of my own doing. Possibly would involve a new hair cut and spiking, possibly color.
Where I will be: This year I am probably going to haunt the Artist Valley again for the most part, since as I said, I want to kind of take that in and make myself ready to do it myself one day(hopefully sooner than later)
As of yet I don’t really know what the panels are, and I’m kind of afraid to look since panels have a way of enticing me away from Artist Valley for hours at a time…Though I know John Rhys Davies is going to be there and that kind of makes me want to fly off into that direction, BUT
Only have one day to do this…I actually really miss doing the whole weekend(but the hotel we stayed in was a considerable chunk of money. Maybe next year.
Hubs and I will be entering the city via the bus and coming over from 16th Street mall, since parking in Denver is USUALLY not fun, but apparently we also have other events in the city to compete with for space. So, I must navigate us through the transit system that I know very well in order for us to get in.
ANYWAY, that’s all I got on the subject for now, and I would love to know if anyone else is going to be there! I will likely have time to say hi as Hubby has his own unicorns to find in the con(IE Signatures from artists to get) so I will have windows of alone time. :3 Also let me know if you got a table!

One more commission done for sillynekorobin, who conspired with me to make a cool little Rule 39 piece of grimreaperchibi‘s Phoenix and Razer doing completely legal things such as drag racing(and apparently not wearing seatbelts woops)
Robin commissioned this to me as a secret commission for Grim’s Birthday! So happy birthday!
Part of her request being along the lines of “Phoenix looking far more gung ho about Razer’s driving vice than any normal person should.” XD
And a part that I concocted myself was an idea for that little Sootball; The way I see this is that, given that Phoenix is a proven Miyazaki fan, I bet he’s introducing Razer to all of the movies in part of their shared downtime. One day, being the dork he is, he turns up and presents Razer with a little Sootball keychain! Because “hey look, it’s cute and you seemed to really like Spirited Away the other night! And look, I got a Totoro!“, etc.
Obviously Razer is a little befuddled at the gesture and poo-poo’s the sentiment as he slides the thing onto his key ring.
(fun fact, tried doing a Kodama keychain, but at that size was having tons of trouble making it look recognizably like a Kodama. So Sootball it was!)
Anyway, For Robin and her awesome ideas for Commissions, and For Grim for her birthday and being an awesome person and author! :D <3

Fun fact, I haven't read the chapter yet, but Robin did give me some context as to what was going down! (and I have been snickering excitedly ever since!)
and before I get the stray person saying this should be under a cut or on a click-thru link, seriously I attempted this but the click thru system is all janked up now that tumblr completely made itself over. I tried, but the fates said "NO, tumblr's gonna be a butt about it. DICKS ON PARADE, CARRY ON."
So yes I tried. No it didn't work. No I don't want to sacrifice the big, quality version for putting it under a cut. Please blame Tumblr and it's fixing of things that don't need to be fixed.

who requested some older Kings of Spargus relaxing. (or King of Spargus and his consort?)
I imagine this as Daxter flinging himself on top of Jak and telling him to "have a drink already, and loosen those kingly britches!"
I did my best to keep to her design for older!Jak and the beginnings of a majestic beard, and I decided that Daxter looked damn fine with a layer of short fuzz himself. Also Ponytail Dax because this is the desert and shit's sticky and hot out there.

OKAY so two versions:
One: crappy scanner version. Resolution looks terrible! It kind of just pixelated everything and I tried but couldn't get it to take a better shot.
Two: I tried instead, just taking a shot with a digital camera. Which came out better for photo-realism and has much more of the little nuance that comes with Traditional mediums...The only issue was getting an even light source and the light catching on parts where I was pretty heavy with the pencil.
These aren't quite the best they could be but I have really really put this upload off for long enough what with the confused pondering of what to do about the scanner problem. May yet borrow my parent's and see if theirs is any better.
It looks like modern art or minimalist Jaxter art(porn?)
But actually I am gonna be doing some fun color experiments for the colored pencil version of sillynekorobin's commission piece.

Jak fandom is being so dang active and fun lately and I'm here just trying to figure out if I am tired from work or if I just have a problem that work makes worse, tragically dependent on my space heater, constantly trying to recover from work aches and subsisting a diet of potatoes and Pepsi that doesn't seem to give me caffeine benefits anymore...
Another thing: Scanner is still resolution-screwing, quality-eating bollocks. I need a solution to this problem which may just end up being I use my parent's scanner at their house to upload my needed Commission items. ARGH.

I know this was all terrible timing for my life and technology to do a pirouette into chaos and questionable quality and everything, but I am trying to do this thing. I am good on my exchanges even if I am stupidly tired and it is taking forever....Please bear with me.
