You guessed it. It’s meerkatblue22 back at you with another sideblog.
Here is where I’ll put all my headcannons and yap! To separate from my art blog 💕
Feel free to ask for character headcannons in my ask box! Be as specific as you like! You could simply ask me for ‘[character] headcannons’ or ask me something like ‘how would [character] react to [situation/object/etc]
Electra and the components clearly have something going on, right? (In older versions)
What if engines and their components as a romantic group isn’t uncommon
Imagine
An engine. We’re gonna use Electra & Killerwatt for this because I love them
Electra finally has their new security truck
He’s been trained up, shut down, and shipped to them. Wrench is actively powering him on.
His eyes open- they’re big and curious, and the first thing he sees is Electra. They hold eye contact, literally bonding them
This imprinting has a purpose though.
The datastream. By allowing a component to imprint on the engine, the component learns everything they need to about said engine via shared data packets etc, but it also allows the component access to the data steam (or to form one if there isn’t one already)
The datastream is already a widely accepted headcanon I know - I like to think it’s a unique frequency that only imprinted components can access. The imprint prevent other data streams from overlapping and getting confused
It’s very easy to fall in love with someone who you’re connected with for basically your entire working life
Components semi-imprint on eachother too! It’s not done via direct eye contact, but a pre-established bond is shared between components via their bond with the engine. It’s no less binding though
There are also instances where no buyer shows interest in a component. In this case, the manufacturer activates the component and just lets them go on their own way. From then, imprinting on an engine is a choice.
I think Wembley Lec bought Killerwatt and Wrench, but Joule and Volta they met at bars and the like. For older versions, I think all five of them were bought. For Bochum, I think that all of them were met
Guyssssss what if after Rusty takes Pearl onto the podium Hydra takes it the wrong way and whenever they talk about the championship they always say ‘Rusty won the race’
What if in the news articles and the stories they tell it’s just about Pearl. It’s her picture in the news so who else would’ve been involved
Guys think about the possibilities do you all hate me yet
like one of the coaches hearing a noise from a shed and going in to see Killerwatt curled into a ball in the corner as tightly as he can and he’s in tears and when they ask what’s wrong all he can talk about is how he’s not good enough and he failed Electra by not being there. But as soon as the others come near again, he just locks back in because he now has other personality types
Or like, Wrench being separated and ends up hurting someone close to her by making an unethical decision to get home, and then having to try and fix it once she’s back
Or or Joule being so hyperactive and literally having to be restrained because she’s a risk to herself and others, until she literally runs out of fuel and collapses in their arms. When Electra and co come to get her - none of them are smiling or seem energetic
Volta shouting at or hurting someone he loves, not understanding where the usual discipline is gone and why people aren’t acting the way he likes it. When he shuts down, the other components become horribly unorganised, including Wrench, and she struggles to work out what to do with everyone being panicked behind her
Krupp, who would rather not cause harm or a fuss, physically hurting someone who tries to help him, or holds someone at gunpoint convinced that he’s been cornered and is at risk
Purse, as independent as ever, actually has a rendezvous point (or radius) that he aims for when he’s separated and refusing help. Whether he makes it or not is a different story
Also I won’t go into it because I don’t wanna get annoying but different things would happen if they were split into smaller groups too
So if they all regulate Electra’s emotions/behaviour, they also regulate each other. It is imperative that they remain in a set radius of each other (using the shared datastream/telepathy headcanon here).
Their emotions and personalities DIRECTLY affect each other, while their own personalities tend to show a little more. They need each other around to act in socially acceptable way
What happens if each component is separated?
Firstly, if Electra is separated from their components, their dominant personality, and instinct to lead has nowhere to be aimed. With nobody to command, they will eventually just shutdown, since they practically become useless, and their systems don’t know how to cope.
If Joule is separated, she becomes erratic and hyperactive. With nobody to calm her down or regulate her, she will burn through her fuel and crash, leading to a shutdown.
If Volta is left alone, he will become regimented and panicked. If he is with someone who isn’t part of Electra’s team, he will be harsh and snappy with them, trying to restore discipline around him until he eventually stresses himself to shutdown.
Purse’s self assurance becomes full blown egoism. He will refuse help from anyone, insistant he can do it on his own, and becomes generally unpleasant to be around. If not regrouped, he will remain solitary until he runs out of fuel, like Joule, and shuts down.
Wrench’s decision making will become inconsiderate. She will make any decision necessary, regardless of people’s feelings or thoughts to get back to her group. She is the only one who is likely to find them again, though that doesn’t mean she will.
Krupp goes from being alert, to hypervigilant. He will behave distant, paranoid, and is not above attacking people he perceives as a threat. Krupp is the most dangerous of the group to lose as he adopts a fire first, think later mentality. He is likely to shut down because of stress or power loss.
Killerwatt is somewhat a combination of Purse and Krupp, where he becomes paranoid and nervous, but instead of becoming egotistical and overly self-reliant, he will become self-deprecating instead. His likelihood to attack comes from a place of fear, however, like Purse, he is more likely to seclude himself and hide until he is found or he shuts down.
Guys holy shit wait if you saw me talk about the components literally being PART of Electra here consider the components working like the emotions in inside out and each of them has a different role
Joule is Electra’s spontaneity - she keeps their life interesting and fun, as well as allowing them to make split second decisions during races
Volta is Electra’s discipline - he makes sure that they don’t get themselves into trouble, while keeping them organised so they don’t fall into chaos (a counter to Joule)
Purse is Electra’s self-assurance - he ensures that Electra does not doubt their own abilities and therefore chicken out of situations. This also keeps Electra sociable and charming
Wrench is Electra’s rationalism - she keeps them steady and reasonable when they need to make decisions, while ensuring they don’t come across as overly narcissistic (a counter to Purse)
Krupp is Electra’s alertness - he keeps them active and prepared at all times, especially to handle the outcome of Joule
(Depending on the version of course, Killerwatt manages both Purse & Krupp’s roles)
I don’t think the StEx fandom uses the facts that they are Electra’s COMPONENTS enough
Meaning ‘a part or element of a larger whole, especially a part of a machine or vehicle,’ or ‘constituting part of a larger whole’
I NEED to see that engine failing to exist without them. I NEED to see them breaking down and not coping when at least one component isn’t with them and vice versa
I wanna see this fandom really lean in to the whole ‘components’ thing

thinking about how Hydra is so separate from the rest of the freights….
they’re not a primary colour…they don’t get to hit their barrel in the intro to freight is great…they even have their own leitmotif (did I use that right) that doesn’t match the other fuel trucks…they don’t really stand with the fuel trucks…UGH

Guys I’m bored I’m gonna tell you about my Moneygun family
This is HEAVILY based on MY OWN headcanons and probably doesn’t line up with the canon of the show at all
TLDR; Purse and Krupp are married and have two beautiful sons Kairo (B! Killerwatt) and Killian (W! Killerwatt)
Moneygun
Purse and Krupp meet working for OLC Electra, where they almost instantly become inseparable.
After Electra’s whole ‘no comeback’ tantrum, he settles down with CB (and they have BV & RC who has Slick but I’ll get into that another time), and Purse and Krupp move on to find new jobs.
They mostly work freelance for a couple years, until one day Killian comes home with his partner and boss (Wembley Electra), and Purse grows rather fond of them. Purse decides to take up financing work for Electra, while Krupp carries on working freelance
Purse and Krupp live together in a small shed in the Wembley yard, near Killian, while Kairo moved to Bochum to work with one of Electra’s sibling engines.
Kairo & Killian
I think that a ‘security truck’ is a profession rather than a build. Sooo Kairo is Bochum Killerwatt, and he is an armaments truck, while Killian is Wembley Killerwatt, and he is a money truck :3
Kairo and Killian come from the same factory that ends up going bankrupt due to the lack of demand for armaments trucks/money trucks. They end up together in a small yard and form a brotherly bond due to Kairo’s armaments truck nature to protect, and Killian’s money truck nature to be protected, so they stick together.
Idk how train ages work, but Kairo is the equivalent of 16, while Killian is 12. Normally in the factory, the trucks are built and socialised to be able to perform their jobs properly, but this gets cut short due to the factory closing down. Kairo is alright due to his age, but Killian just kinda stares at people who talk to him and isn’t very vocal.
So, with Kairo near working age, and Killian being able to avoid trouble, Kairo decides to try looking for a job as the two of them wander between yards, trying to find somewhere that could still use an armaments truck.
Instead, he encounters another armaments truck! Surprise! It’s Krupp, and Krupp, as an armaments truck, recognises Kairo to be young, as well as knowing that armaments trucks are not in demand anymore. Of course, with his protective nature, he feels somewhat bad for Kairo (mainly because he’s a child) and pulls some strings to get him a little shed he can stay in until he’s secure, but when he sees Killian too, it’s pretty obvious what he has to do.
Anyway, Krupp gets home and is like ‘Purse I got you a present! It’s children.’ and Purse is more than happy - the lack of demand left him with very little to do.
With the support of Purse and Krupp, Kairo decides his best opportunity is as a security truck, since armaments trucks are best suited for the role. Killian becomes a little bit of a mama’s boy, although when he gets older, also decides to be a security truck too!
Killian ends up in a polyamorous relationship with the Wembley electrics, while Kairo ends up with Bochum Volta :3
