Chivalry Is Not Dead – How To Impress Your Mate On The First Date.
Picking the right setting can prove to be difficult and is such a vital part in the overall success of the date.
Firstly, you will need to have a rough idea of your date’s personality (this should go without saying, right?) and find a middle ground for the two of you. The romantic girl will not want to get a coffee and the shy girl may faint at the idea of a dimly lit dinner.
Take care when planning the first date and your second may not be too far off.
No guys, chivalry is not dead.
The romantic date
This date often takes place at a restaurant, with dim lighting, wine and your best shirt. A rose will often make an appearance and a midnight kiss is expected – just a peck, nothing French.
The girl:
This date fits perfectly with the girl who claims that Paris is her favourite city – for all the love and romance in that Parisian air. A romantic girl is easy to spot but make sure she comes with a side of confidence, as this date requires a lot of eye contact and compliments.
Where to wine and dine her:
1 – Maggie Jones’s http://www.maggie-jones.co.uk/
2 – Les Trois Garcons http://wordpress.lestroisgarcons.com/
3 – SUSHISAMBA http://sushisamba.com/
The coffee shop date
Pick the coziest coffee shop you can find and get there five minutes early to secure a sofa. Make sure you have cash (the majority won’t take card) and a list of topic starters at the ready.
The girl:
A girl who loves to chat and seems quirky (a hipster) will love you for picking this date. The date can be as short as a quick cup of coffee or as long as a few. This date allows you to either get cozy or escape if things get a little awkward.
Cozy coffee shops:
1 – Kahaila Café http://kahaila.com/
2 – Harris + Hoole http://www.harrisandhoole.co.uk/
3 – TAP Coffee http://www.tapcoffee.co.uk/index.html#expandmenu
The evening drinks date
The Friday after-work cocktail that you have needed so desperately and a first date, all rolled into one. Naturally the more cocktails you have the easier the conversation will flow!
The girl:
This date will suit two very different girls perfectly – the party girl and the shy girl. For the party girl, need I say more? But for the shy, it gives her a chance to be at ease and not focus on those first-date nerves.
The perfect cocktail menus:
1 – Casa Blue http://www.facebook.com/CasaBlueLondon
2 – The Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town http://www.themayorofscaredycattown.com/
3 – The Zetter TownHouse http://www.thezettertownhouse.com/
The cinema date
You will end up either yawning your way through a chick flick or trying your hardest not to flinch at a horror – but hey, it’s the ladies choice! Taking a girl to the cinema dates back to our school days but it’s a safe bet and there is not too much room for mistake.
The girl:
This is the perfect date if you are not sure which category your date falls under. Although going to the cinema is typically an anti-social date, it gives you just enough time to get a feel for each other. You have the option to get close or sit on the edge of chair and think about the possibility of ending the night with dinner - you get around 90 minutes to decide.
Escape the tweens at one of these unique cinemas:
1 – The Aubin Cinema https://www.aubincinema.com/
2 – Hot Tub Cinema http://hottubcinema.com/
3 – Curzon http://www.curzoncinemas.com/
The activity date
Playing tourist for the day or dipping in culture at an art gallery, an activity date is always refreshing. Make sure you have a solid plan for the day and do something the both of you will enjoy – if you aren’t sure, it never hurts to ask. The sillier, the better.
The girl:
Good indications she may enjoy an activity filled date:
She likes to travel.
She enjoys outdoor activities.
She is always on the go.
Moving around can cut out a lot of awkward fidgeting from those who feel uncomfortable being in one spot too long. Plus, the cutest dates happen in museums, well, according to every romantic film.
1 – Victoria and Albert Museum http://www.vam.ac.uk/
2 – Namco Funscape http://www.namcofunscape-londonevents.co.uk/
3 – Science Museum http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/
So, look at the above, pick carefully and remember that being a gentleman never goes a miss.

Getting over a break up
Breaking up is a part of life. You just can’t avoid it, it happens to everyone that doesn’t marry their childhood sweetheart. Sometimes you leave someone behind, and sometimes you are the one that gets left behind. Dealing with it can often be difficult regardless of what side you were on. We’ve prepared a little, somewhat humorous guide on how to deal with a break up and get back in shape to hunt for some new hot stuff!
Spend some time alone.
Certainly, you can ask for the support of your friends, but don’t just fill your whole schedule with it - try to find some quiet time for thinking about your past as well. It may not be pleasant but if you keep avoiding the subject, you’ll never get over it.
Cry if you want to.
It’s not healthy to hold up all the emotion inside. Find a quiet corner, take some time for yourself and just let go of everything. Make sure you remove any valuable, easily-breakable objects from your reach before you start, though!
Get back in shape.
After spending a week or so wallowing in self-pity and despair, it’s a good idea to get back into the real life. You can’t live in your flat forever, so get out, go for a walk, if possible try to enjoy some fresh air and nature. Life isn’t just about you and your problems, and now is a good time to stop caring about your ex.
Spend some time with your friends.
See, now that you’re trying to get back to your regular life, spending time with friends is a great idea - they’ll pull you right back on track with their love and support. Don’t forget what they do to you and remember to repay the favours - especially to those that were being pricks to you when you were down.
Find someone new.
You gave yourself time to be angry and sad, you thought about your past and finally, you’re ready to move on. Your friends got your back, they’ve supported you and invited you to a bunch of parties. Start searching with Tonight! and you’ll find some new in no time!
This process won’t be easy, especially the part where you have to stop all the self-pity. Still, it’s important. People often only let themselves mourn forever or don’t do it at all. Both of these options are not healthy, and will affect your future relationships. Relationships, just like many other things are about balancing your emotions and getting the best out of the two options.
She sinned tonight, you can too!

Dating Simplified - Tonight!
Have you ever wondered why online dating sites are not efficient? How many times your mailbox was empty or you’ve been spammed with tons of uninteresting messages? Or maybe you were stood-up by your date and waited alone in a pub? Well we have the answer.
Download tonight from UK App Store: http://tnght.me/i/6/IJ4dYPwa
If you want to have a successful date and meet someone as quickly offline as you do online, instead of endless chatting, this is your chance. Launching February 12th, 2013 in United Kingdom, we’re bringing the term speed-dating to a whole new level. Thanks to Tonight (tonightapp.com) application, which will be available free on your iPhone, you will be able to instantly (in real-time) find a noteworthy person near you who is interested in meeting up.
Why so many of online dating attempts are unsuccessful? There are many reasons; however, the most common causes of failure are the lack of rapid response and many inactive or even fake profiles. Thus, men used to send even more messages to get any response, but this leads to spam of women’s inboxes. This shies away women from engaging and creates a vicious circle. Moreover, according to market research over 80% people lie in dating sites about their age, height, or physical build, with some even using fake pictures! So, when we finally meet our dream person we may feel a bit confused. At ‘Tonight!’ we have a solution! The application allows you, in a quick and accessible way to find in real time people who want to meet.
How does it work? Let the night begin by taking a few steps to create your profile. You have to use the app to take an instant photo, and then describe your preferences, what you’re looking to do tonight, go for a drink? Go to the cinema? Which gender you’re looking for?
What makes tonight different
Tonight! does not allow users to upload their photos to ensure that everyone has an up-to-date photo.
No time-consuming account setup, or silly questions. Tonight! does not require any personal data like your e-mail, password or your Facebook account information.
Now, you can find someone local to party easily. Thanks to geolocation, the application searches for people nearby who are interested in having a night out. Just browse profiles one-by-one and invite them for a date. No more waiting for hours or days. You and your future date have only 60 seconds to make a decision if you want to chat together. There is no ‘inbox’ in Tonight!, so you will not get overwhelming number of messages – just one invitation at the time. But don’t hang around – Accept or it is gone.
When both sides agree to chat, you can offer virtual drinks to initiate the conversation. Then decide on a meeting spot. The application allows you to find out where that person is. Perhaps, they are in a pub around the corner? Fix your hair and be there in 10 minutes. You’ll have no problems finding your date thanks to the up-to-date picture. Now, it’s time to enjoy your evening.
According to Sebastian Zontek, one of the Tonight creators: “We’ve launched this application for fun, and because we want to simplify meeting new people, especially when we travel to new places. And dating isn’t always the point. Let’s imagine – you arrive in a new city, start Tonight! and at the same evening you’re joining a great party, without weeks of planning beforehand. Spontaneity is the spice of life!”.
The application will be available on Tuesday, February the 12th on the UK’s App Store. In the near future an additional advantage of the application will be suggesting the best places to spend time while going out, picked up by local partners and review sites. In London, Tonight! has built a partnership with the local premium club promoting company, Capital A List.

Dating Do’s And Don’ts - Things That Will And Things That Will Not Make A Good Impression On the First Date
Romance is fun, but it can be somewhat antagonising at the same time. When we were still in high school asking someone out was sometimes really scary, but we figured it would get easier with time. It did, but only to a certain degree. Maybe we’ll get the real hang of it by the time we’re old and wrinkled like those funny dogs. Still, we did gain some experience and did a little more research on it, just to tell you the most common and worst mistakes you can make during the first date. This guide is not intended to be the one and only oracle on what is right and what is not, but we’re hoping it will help you avoid dates than abruptly end when your date excuses him or herself, goes to the bathroom and never comes back.
Do be nice.
Gentleman stuff is always in style, regardless of your gender being nice simply makes you more likable and easier to get along with.We don’t mean to say that you have to leave your assertiveness behind when you go out with someone or else you’ll have nothing to discuss, but please don’t question everything they say. That’s not showing off your intelligence/power/confidence/anything else, it’s just rude and irritating.
Don’t be stiff.
Human emotions and attitudes are a funny thing - they tend to spread from one human being to another. If you look like you’re uncomfortable the whole time while you’re out on the date, it will affect your date. He or she will think that you didn’t enjoy their time with them because of something that he or she has done, rather than it was just you stressing out. Try to take it easy, and if it’s really bothering you, just say that you’re a little nervous. Some honesty is always good in a relationship, romantic or not.
Do enjoy yourself.
Sure you might be currently spending some one-on-one time with the most amazing person you’ve ever met, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t have fun while at it. That is, esentially the main point of having a date (right next to trying improve your chances of developing that relationship into one where you get to wake up in the same bed together), isn’t it? Just relax and entertain yourself by getting to know the person you’re with better.
Don’t force anything.
Some people have a much faster ‘tempo’ than the others. If you both want to sleep on the first date, great! Do it, have fun and good luck. If you don’t want to, remember that the date is not any sort of a contract. You don’t have to do anything if you don’t want to. Dating is not some sort of a business. It’s a relationship. Similarly, don’t force anyone else to do something he or she might not be comfortable with. In case of doubt, just ask. It’s as simple as that, and don’t worry even if you get a ‘no’ as your answer. You score extra points for being nice and considerate, and your conscience is crystal clear.
Do avoid talking about your exes.
There’s time and place for everything. If you’re just starting out a new relationship, talking about your past partners might not be the best idea. Some may find your number of partners intimidating and the others might think it’s not impressive enough. Save that talk for later and you’ll avoid the negative feelings. It’s a topic that you should talk about, but not in the very first stages of your relationship.
Don’t be someone you’re not.
That guy or girl is having a date with you, not with anyone else. They agreed on it because they wanted to get to know you. Not the person you think you should be to them, you. Even if you turn out to be different from what they’ve expected, you can still build a relationship on that and function. You can’t do it if they like the actor’s mask that you’ve put on for them. Sooner of later they’ll find out your hidden, real persona. Chances are, they’ll like you anyway, but it will damage their trust. Avoid the trouble, be yourself!
Do choose appropriate clothing.
A while ago, one of us saw a surprisingly accurate line of text on the Internet “a suit is to women what lingerie is to men”. We’re not sure if it’s from a movie, literature or just some sort of internet wisdom, but we figure it’s pretty accurate if you’re a man and thinking of what to wear for a date. You can’t go wrong with a suit, trust us on this. As for women, they have a lot more choice, but as long as you feel good in you clothes and it shows off your best parts (just like a well-tailored suit shows off the best parts of male anatomy) you’ll be fine.
Don’t feel bad if it doesn’t work out.
Not everything can always work out the way you want it to. If it does, wow you must be one of a kind, email us and maybe we can ask you to do some things for us with a 100 percent guarantee of success. Now, if you’re more like a real person, you must know that not everything always works out, dates and relationships included. If it feels like your whole first meeting was a complete mistake and waste of time, it might just not be mean to be. There are plenty of men and women to choose from. Just turn on Tonight! app and see for yourself.
As we always like to say, these are only some general pointers, not the one and only truth that you should follow. There is no ‘secret key’ to solving every story behind a date. It is possible to work out a general formula of things that tend to work and that tend to fail. That’s what we do. Gather some data, interpret it and present you results.
Here we go! We are about to launch Tonight!
So, Tonighters, you have three options:
Buy beer, cocktail or champagne bundles 50% OFF in pre-sales
Donate the launch
Do nothing (it's not an option, is it?!)
The Advantages of One-Night Stands
One-night stands have been around for much less time than you might think. The trend has appeared sometime around the seventies, when the availability of birth-control pills ans condoms has been increased. Within forty years, it has been a phenomenon-turned-reality, that now many men and women take advantage of. Here’s a list of reasons why you might consider doing it yourself:
Right here, right now.
One of the most common reasons why people decide to choose to have a one night stands is that they are, probably the fastest way to have sex with another human being. Most of the time, you do not know the person that you decide to leave the club with. The theoretical constant availability of the one-night stands is what makes them so common - if you can get laid any time you want, why not now?
No responsibilities.
Another charm of the one-night stands, is the fact that they rarely ever carry responsibility with them. As long as you protect yourself from STDs and such, there isn’t much more to worry about in terms of relationship or romance. Since you and your partner have both only just met, there is no reason, and most likely no intent from both of you to continue this relationship, or not in any other way than just friends or friends with benefits.
Easier than nurturing a relationship.
Going out and having sex on the same day might not be the most accepted activity in our society, but it certainly is easier than finding someone whose company you enjoy and slowly working towards creating a good relationship. Of course, each of them has their own benefits, but one-night stands are simply easier to get on with.
Both parties know exactly what to expect.
In case of other romance options, there is always a certain dose of uncertainty as to what expect from another person. Such is not the case of a typical one-night stand. Everyone who has ever heard of it, knows the routine: you go out, meet someone new, go somewhere private to eventually go your separate ways. If you make your intentions clear at the very beginning, it’s just easier to know what to expect and have fun while it lasts.
New experiences every time.
You can say many things about one-night stands, but they certainly can guarantee a sense of variety in your sex life. A bigger amount of partners means that there are more opportunities to experiment around with what you want to do in your bedroom. Of course, your partner for the night might not always agree with the idea, but nonetheless, the possibility of doing something new is available a lot more often than in case of having one long-term partner.
Liberating and fun
The feeling of having the ability to get laid whenever you want and wherever you are was, back at the beginning of one-night stands, was quite a cultural revolution. Now, when we are somewhat more used to it, this fact does not shock us anymore as it has become the reality. One-night stands do have plenty of charm for various people, such as the freedom that they bring and the fun that could follow.
Of course, even with all the percived values, one-night stands can still discourage with their disadvantages, mainly the ease of catching an STD. Still, as long as you follow the simple rule ‘safety first’ and always use a condom, there is little to none chance of having to worry about it.
