The patterns from window blinds always remind me of my first studio apartment living by myself.  The street lamps were at the right angle to cast lined shadows against the wall facing my bed, and I would fall asleep looking at thin slices of city lights. I think white squares against a black grid is one of my favorite 80s designs.  Sega previously used it on all their Sega Master System games, and every time I saw them in Toys R’ Us as a kid, I felt like I was looking at some mysterious combination of futuristic, artistic, and fashionable (or the 7 year old equivalent thought process).  It’s a rare and special treat when I see this style today.
