Shane and Ilya do one of those videos where they try foods from each other's country of origin.
Everyone thinks Shane Macrobiotic diet Hollander is going to have a negative reaction to the hearty and carby Russian dishes but instead he goes on long rants about the history behind each one and what region made it popular. Has he actually eaten them before? No. Has he done gratuitous research on Russian everything? Yes. Did Ilya know this? No. It will be a thing later.
Meanwhile on Ilya's side of it, they bring out classic Canadian foods like fast food poutine and Tim Horton's donuts and Ilya dies laughing before starting to rant.
"You think this is what David and Yuna fucking Hollander feed to their Shane? Where is the salmon? Bring me rice. The good kind. Dessert is Greek yogurt ice cream."
It becomes a meme.
Shane posts a photo later that day of David making Pelnini with Ilya. Ilya posts a photo of Yuna and Shane hyperfocused on sprinkle distribution over the ice cream sundaes.
They get invited back to the show, this time for a reversal where they both prepare a meal and the hosts get to taste test it. Yuna helps Shane and David helps Ilya.
Ilya feeding Shane a bite goes viral.
