It’s a *Toy* Story 🤠
You knew it! My new original song “I Knew It, I Knew You” for Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5 will be yours on June 5th. I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a 5 year old kid watching the first Toy Story movie. I fell instantly in love with Toy Story 5 when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening. Sometimes you just know, right?
You can pre-order now exclusively on my site and catch Toy Story 5 in theaters June 19th ☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️
This month marks one year since Taylor’s greatest dream came true, and her first six albums came home. Which one are you streaming this Swift Day? 💚💛💜♥️🩵🖤
Omg, I just read the Eli interview. Honestly, it’s concerning to see someone attack @taylorswift integrity, work ethic, principles, and even turn it into a gender issue. Then to ask her to help Olivia on top of that felt especially strange given the tone of the criticism.
Over the years, Tay has always seemed kind, supportive, and genuine. She consistently advocated for artists while also respecting the laws and regulations surrounding creative work. She even publicly stood up for fair artist compensation from streaming platforms, which says a lot about her values.
It has to be exhausting to be under constant public scrutiny, but anyone who has followed her — even just from a fan perspective — can see this felt less like a productive conversation and more like a failed attempt at addressing a larger issue.
The core message got lost in the approach.
Personally, I think it would have been more constructive for Olivia to reach out directly with an olive branch and open a conversation about collaboration, interpolation, or broader industry payout concerns. Right now, I’m honestly not fully sure what the argument is supposed to be.
That said, if the issue is about interpolation or borrowing heavily from another artist’s work, then respectfully, I do believe credit and compensation should go where it’s due. Art takes immense creativity and effort to create. If someone took something like The Starry Night and layered a few changes over it, the original artist should still be acknowledged.
I could absolutely be misunderstanding parts of the situation, and if Tay ever choose to address it further, I’d genuinely be interested in hearing more context. But either way, I hope she doesn't take this too personally, because the approach came across as irrational more than constructive.
I'd also like to address the comparison to MAGA. I am not sure how supporting someone who produces art, stands up for artists, and supports artistry recognition is comparable. Taylor has never asked the Fandom to act negatively or for retribution on her behalf. While there are always outliers in any type of group, the term Swiftie typically encompasses supportive fans. The aggression Eli is likely encountering from Swifties are from those who feel that she personally attacked Taylor in an inappropriate manner and brought unrelevant issues into the conversation. I think there are people who take things to far and while I dont condone illicit or inappropriate behavior. I would hope some self reflection and focused messages would be a goal for Eli in the future. Unfortunately, I think she brought Tay into the conversation for publicity and not a genuine request for change.
We're taking this chance to say, we hope all of your motherly figures have the best day with you today 🌸
