One of the most mildly infuriating things about work is the Phantom Notification. What do you MEAN I have an unread message in teams? I HAVE LOOKED EVERYWHERE WHERE ARE YOU??? CLEAR, DAMMIT
I FOUND THE SOURCE OF THE PHANTOM NOTIFICATION! Apparently they had a meeting while I was out sick yesterday but it didn't show up in my normal active feed since no text messages were used in it, so the date the channel was for was back in June. Because why would I think to go back that far???
The relieeeeeeeeef of not having that annoying ghost notification!
Going to start reading Witch Hat Atelier and that will mean I will prolly have MORE things to add to my "to embroider" list because the spells are just BEGGING for it. But it makes me curious, though idk if it's already addressed in the source material later on.
Hypothetically, if you dye thread in the conjuring ink, would that imbue the thread with that ability? Like you can see more permanent magic into things like clothes? Because spells drawn onto the soles of shoes, for example, would VERY EASILY wipe off. And you can seeing things into the lining of cloaks like protection spells and same for hats, etc. that won't just wash away. Can even have it go multiple ways, like for a cloak, the spell is only complete when wrapped protectively around yourself. Or seeing a bunch of half circles into a cloak and folding the fabric in different ways gives you different spells. Or having one seen in but with an incomplete run that you finish with your pen, etc.
Like, idk if it's just because I embroider, and was, in fact, embroidering watching the show, but it's GOTTA be a thing right? Perhaps just banned because its permanence might make it easy to fall into the wrong hands, or something. But drawn onto an object carries the same risk, just has a better chance of wiping away.
It's making for a tempting OC, though I don't intend to RP or do works for them. I just like having a little character in mind when exploring world-building questions.

Just finished the first season of Witch Hat Atelier and have zero other interaction or context (though I may end up reading the manga).
One thing that I can tell they're setting up is the idea of the kind of class divide that gate keeps knowledge itself. It's not the first piece of media that has this but I seem to latch onto that the most in things where it comes up. The idea that only certain people are allowed to even try is a bad move and will EVENTUALLY cause problems.
In other words, while I usually think of myself a goody-two-shoes in the "if I were to isekai into this verse" scenario (that I think about for an embarrassing amount of IP), I would be so easily recruited into the Brim Hat guys even though I just know that that messaging is definitely propaganda to join their "on the very much darker shade of gray" group. That or avoid as many people as possible, idk. But definitely not joining traditional mages and shit. Those Knight guys would wipe my memory SO FAST.
Okay, wait, fuck. I have vastly undervalued Dr. Doppler. When the Benbow Inn caught fire he was just like "Okay, Sarah, time to jump out of a window" and was their getaway driver.
Had a talk with hubs last night and he's been exploring androgyny (he recently came out as nonbinary but isn't changing pronouns, etc). And since earlier in the day, I mentioned seeing a dress a ballerina was wearing that absolutely enamored me and inspired me to use some of the fabric I got for JoAnn's before it disappeared that would be good for Pride. Well, now he wants me to make him a dress for next year's Pride too, partly because he knows it is 10x harder for me to motivate myself to do something if it is only for myself so this genuinely is his way to help motivate me.
That said, while I'm honored that the first dress you want to wear is something I make, your faith in my abilities may be misplaced.
But I'll try at least. I AM wanting to learn and practice more in clothes making and this will be part of that. Guess we have a plan for Pride 2027. Though I won't be starting that any time soon. I have projects for 2026 still to finish.
The dress that inspired me btw. Like... Maybe if the overdress was a black chiffon and the skirt like... Idk. Purple, white, and grey metallic?
Though I'd prolly only take the basic idea of this. And maybe make the overdress something that can be worn without a skirt under it perhaps. But regardless, something is HERE. Like the first major pin on a pin board.

Gonna go to Michael's tomorrow because I have it off but also because I need to get supplies for the traditional stockings I'm making for five people (in a very optimistic way). Technically my mother would usually make these but I'm doing them myself since mom doesn't see poly relationships as legit but whatever.
So y'all can truly grasp the task ahead of me, here is mine that my Nana made when I was born.
Each child stocking MUST have:
Santa in the center
Small Christmas tree somewhere
Letter block somewhere with the child's initial (my M looks like an H here but I get it lol)
Three more elements. I'm choosing to have one tradional toy, one tradional symbol, and because the children are not infants, something SIMPLE of their choice. Jury's out if they make it easy for me or not.
The adults will also have stockings but they're a little lower priority since we don't usually do stockings for the adults. But the spouse always gets a single large Christmas tree. And since there's not exactly protocol for metas, I'm doing a single large snowman for each of them.
Fun fact though, it's not just sequins with some parts of just beads.
EACH SEQUIN HAS A MATCHING BEAD ON IT WHYYYYYYYYYYY. So I have to make sure that I get MATCHING COLORS.
This is going to kill me but it will be worth it to see all those matching stockings. And it will really show the kids that I do truly think of them as my family, even if my parents don't accept that.
I think I'm going to get back into learning Spanish. At least in a professional customer service capacity. Had a call today and I felt bad for the lady. She was STRUGGLING with English. Thankfully I gleaned she needed a different department, but yeah. Found out that my department doesn't have an in-house Spanish speaker like my old one did. So maybe I can be that person and perhaps get set up with a pay bump as a result.
That awful feeling if accidentally sleeping through my alarm and being 2.5 hours late to work but your boss is sweet about it and it makes you feel WORSE
And of course, if you have any questions, you're more than welcome to ask me! Also I imagine it would be easy to adjust the lore for Pathfinder 2e as well, tbh. Also, I am fairly new to things like this so despite my best efforts if this is totally unbalanced then... My bad lol.
General Information
Capram are a goat-like people who are native to the planet of Capra, a very mountainous and mostly inhospitable planet with one major fertile valley being where all known life resides. In order to live in harmony, they are traditionally split between four clans, all focusing on a different industry:
Hirca - They live on the valley floor in tall communal homes to maximize space for agriculture. They are the main food producers for all Capram.
Wilia - They inhabit the alpine forests and work with the wood and lumber, living in and amongst the trees they cultivate.
Orea - They are found in the alpine pastures with the alpaca-like limu and live in communal long houses. Weaving and textiles are their main industry.
Sabira - Their homes are carved into the rock along the mountain cliff faces. Mining, masonry and stonework are their industry.
The Capram worship a set of gods, but the primary one is Inaya. She is the Goddess of Art and Story and the main force that separates Capram from other animals. She is a neutral goddess who doesn't like stagnation and whispers inspiration into the ear of her people. Sometimes if someone acts on impulse, they might say that Inaya moved them to do so. Stories are kept alive through oral storytelling tradions kept by the Story Keepers. They not only entertain, but also are spiritual guides and mentors in their communities. Lessons, history, entertainment, holders if tradition, are all overseen by Story Keepers.
There was balance in the four clans until the Starex Company arrived. The Starex Company is a group that goes from remote outer planet to outer planet. They didn't realize that Capra was inhabited at first and had planned to extract its mineral resources, but it decided to take advantage of the fact that they were the ones to introduce Capram to the concept of a larger galaxy. They tightly control the local population and their communication with and understanding of the larger galaxy. Whether this is a good or bad thing depends on who you ask. Regardless, Starex is a company first and foremost and run the colony as one. For better or for worse.
Those who do not fall in line with Starex are banished and exiled from Capra, never to return so that they don't "complicate" Starex's presentation of Capram. In other words, most of the Capram seen around Absalom Station or elsewhere in the Pactworlds are a diaspora separated from their home and people, forming pockets of community where they can.
Appearance
Capram are bipedal goat-like creatures. Due to their alpine homes, color is equal to life and so often wear bright and clashing colors. The horns of male Capram are painted in intricate patterns that relate to their personal and family history, and women have shawls that have the same purpose. Even meeting strangers, a Capram can tell the other's clan, their profession, expertise in their field, as well as the same for their parents, spouse, and children.

Native
You were born and raised on Capra. It is all you know. Your only knowledge of beyond your skies has been what has been told to you by the Starex Company. They govern the planet and though you know they likely are misrepresenting the outside world, failure to obey their commands and rules is likely to bring punishment to your family or get you exiled. You are a member of one of the four clans whose locations lend themselves to the four main trade and crafting industries: Hirca (farming), Orea (weaving), Sabira (mining), Wilia (woodworking). Though you do understand the general works of the others. As such, you are at least trained in crafting, even if you do not go on to pursue it as your main purpose in life.
Exiled
You have never known Capra, not directly. You were born off planet to those who had been exiled by the Starex Company, forbidden from ever returning. Scattered throughout the galaxy, you don’t have the same sense of home and community as other Capram but are especially aware of and trained in the complex societal rules of your local area as a result.
Feats
At the first level you gain one ancestry feat, and you gain an additional ancestry feat every 4 levels thereafter (at 5th, 9th, 13th, and 17th level). As a Capram, you choose from the following feats.
Level 1
Capram Lore
The Story Keepers and elders have passed down folklore and histories of your people, imparting upon you life lessons that you take to heart. You gain trained proficiency in Diplomacy and Religion. If you would automatically become trained in one of those skills (from your background or class, for example), you instead become trained in a skill of your choice. You also become trained in Capram lore.
Headbutt
Your naturally hard head allows you to headbutt with ease for 1d6 bludgeoning damage.
Horizontal Pupils
Your enhanced vision allows you to see a bit more around you. You are Trained in Perception
Natural Grace
Frequency: Once per day
Trigger: You fail an Acrobatics check or Reflex saving throw
You have an almost supernatural control over your movements which can sometimes save you in dangerous situations. You can re-roll a triggering skill check or saving throw, using the second result even if it’s worse
Strength in Numbers
Frequency: once per 10 minutes
Trigger: You roll a saving throw.
Requirements: You’re adjacent to two allies.
Herd mentality is strong in Capram, but it's also a survival mechanism that has stood the test of time and served them well. You roll the saving throw twice but must use the second result, even if it's worse.
Sure Footing
You grew up climbing rocky faces and near-vertical walls. You gain a Climb speed of 10.
Level 5
Bouldering
You have become more confident in your balance and climbing ability. Your Climb speed is now equal to your land speed.
Inaya’s Whisper
Frequency: Once per day
Trigger: You fail a Skill check
You can call upon Inaya, Capram goddess of Story, to re-roll any skill check, using the second result even if it’s worse
Iron Gut
Your stomach is particularly durable. When you succeed at a Fortitude save to reduce your sickened value, you reduce it by 2 (or by 3 on a critical success).
Level 9
All-Around Vision
Capram can see in all directions and so cannot be flanked and have an advantage against surprise attacks.
Altitude Awareness
Due to a body build for high altitudes, you have a natural acclimation to low-oxygen environments. You are not Fatigued in Thin Atmospheres and are instead Fatigued in Severely Thin Atmospheres and do not have to make a Fortitude save.
Barreling Charge
You rush forward, moving enemies aside to reach your foe. You Stride, attempting to move through your enemies’ spaces. Roll an Athletics check and compare the result to the Fortitude DC of each creature whose space you attempt to move through during your Stride, moving through its space on a success but ending your movement before entering its space on a failure. You can then Strike, regardless of how your Stride ended. You can use Barreling Charge to Burrow, Climb, Fly, or Swim instead of Stride if you have the corresponding movement type.
Level 13
Five-gods Ram
Prerequisite: Headbutt
You attack in an unceasing flurry of charging headbutts. Stride or Climb and then make a ramming horn Strike. If the Strike is successful, you immediately push the target back 10 feet, then Stride or Climb and make a second ramming horn Strike against them. If the second Strike is successful, you immediately knock the target prone, but if the second Strike is a failure or if you’re unable to complete all the required actions, you become stunned 1. Both Strikes count toward your multiple attack penalty, but the penalty doesn’t increase until you’ve made both of them.
Follow Their Lead
Trigger: An adjacent ally Strides.
You synchronize your movement to that of your allies, moving alongside them to keep close in the fray. Stride after the triggering ally, remaining adjacent to your ally for the duration of their movement until they stop or you've moved a distance equal to your Speed, whichever occurs first.
Solo Climb
Prerequisite: Bouldering
You can navigate vertical surfaces with ease. You no longer need to use your hands while climbing.
Level 17
Inaya’s Breath
Frequency: Once per day
Trigger: If you would die
Inaya, Capram Goddess of Story has determined yours is not done yet and breathes life back into your weary body. If you have the dying or unconscious conditions, you lose the dying and unconscious conditions. If you’re at 0 hit points , you have 1 hit point. Increase the value of your wounded and doomed conditions by 1. You can use this reaction while unconscious.
Reliable Grace
Frequency: Once per hour
Prerequisites: Natural Grace
You have exceptional control over your body. You can now use Natural Grace once per hour instead of once per day.
Man I did not sleep well yesterday and conked out after work and was distracted after dinner. For the Capram in Starfinder 2e, I'll post what I have here in a little bit but will edit it later to have the informational blurbs necessary. Well, maybe I'll end up putting some in there when I make the post. But we will see if I can brain enough for that. Thankfully I get quite a bit of downtime at work so maybe?
When I get a chance, I'm probably going to put some of my aliens that I'm making for a Starfinder 2e campaign on here. I won't necessarily share the ones for my friends' aliens because those are theirs, but I'll be sharing my own because hell yeah. They will be fully permissable for use (though if you do, I would love to hear about it!)
I only have the Capram made but will prolly write a bit more on their context to help with those who wouldn't be familiar. I made these aliens YEARS ago for Treasure Planet and I love my goats.
Back over here for the first time in ages. Kind of feeling like that the stuff I like about RP aren't actually about RP. That maybe I don't even like it. I just like the sense of community and creativity that comes from it.
"he’s the most babygirl middle aged man i’ve ever seen and he also definitely lets his wife peg him. <3"
[Dr. Doppler]
"Hi, yes, it's me from last year. The lore of Doppler "canonically" being pregnant was largely my fault and so will be the cross I die on until the end of time. Getting him pregnant will make it real. Do what Disney couldn't even dream of doing. I have a dream and it is getting this man pregnant.
As for the actual propaganda. He is a genuine kind and caring family man who went through it in Treasure Planet. He grew as a person. Defended those he loved despite fears and doubts. Even in the beginning, it was there though. He didn't know how to really talk to Jim as a Troubled Youth (TM) but he TRIED because he knew Jim needed it. He put ALL his wealth on the line to follow his dream, but took Jim with him because Jim genuinely needed it. He's smart, adorable, but comes through when others need him the most. Unlike a lot of other bumbling dorks, he COMES THROUGH. We need more of that in the world and he would make an excellent father.
Also, in the PC game sequel, he is genuinely a stay-at-home dad while Amelia is out busy doing Admiral stuff. Honestly, based. I love him. You love him. We love him pregnant. I am @megers67 and I approve this message."
Was distracted a bit with my RP blog so hadn't actually checked in here for a hot sec. Anyway, I finished my small cross-stitch for January! I was planning to do one for each month then realized with all the projects I want to do this year that I likely won't actually have time to do all that. So monthly cross-stitch is going to be axed.
That said, will definitely do something like this if I have time between projects though! Someone suggested I make this a patch so I need to figure out how to do that since I didn't exactly make it with a patch in mind. But I'll prolly have to back it on felt first. Something I've managed to avoid with my other works.
Anyway! My attempt at converting a Nightmare Before Christmas pattern to be more Van Gogh inspired!
