Growing More
I am continuing to grow my business. When I entered this program (Fitness and Health Promotion), I knew I wanted to complete the program with intention of starting to personal train. Through this entrepreneurship journey, I have altered my goal and have a new idea in mind, health promotion.
I want to continue my business after the end of the course. I am passionate about health and hope to continue to spread my passion to others.
Buzz
I have created some buzz with the meal prep I did for my client. I am hoping to gain some more clients.
I am still struggling with the limited amount of clientele I have available where I live. I am using my Facebook page to advertise and promote my business.
I have two steady clients and I think that is great for living in a community of 1000 people.
Success
I have made my first profit! I created a plan and received payment for it. This weekend I will be working with my other client for meal prepping.
I’m beginning to feel some success in my endeavors and hope to continue my business after graduation and continue to let it grow.
Trying to Make Progress
I have my clients set up. Next week I am going to start meal prep and plan for one client. I have met with another and have developed a plan and set goals for fitness training.
Again, my struggles are the same. Being in a remote community my audience is limited. I have started posting on my Facebook page in hopes of gaining some more clients.
It has been a rough week for me. I am hoping to get back on track myself.
Struggles
I started an online presence but life has got in the way. Working full-time and going to school full-time has not allowed me to expand as much as I hoped. Living in a small community my potential market it small. I would like to start posting more in the Facebook Group I created to hopefully motivate people to reach out and use my business
Progress
My online presence has begun. My goal last week was to start a page for my business. I did. I am hoping to gain clients and promote wellness through this page. A lot of people I know use Facebook, so I thought it would be a good venue for my business.
Start-Up
Great news! I have 2 clients (I live in a small town so this is good). I am struggling on pricing, one of my clients wants a meal plan/prep service but I am unsure what to charge. I want to be fair but I also want to make it profitable and worth while for myself. I have been putting off creating social media pages and am hoping to get this done within the next week.
I am learning there is a lot of work involved in running a business and it is difficult to juggle when you work full-time and have a full course load.
Financial Sourcing
Luckily for me I do not need a lot of resources to service my business. I can create exercise programs, eating plans and provide support through resources I already have.
If I choose to grow my business, I could create a gym in my garage (it is a fairly large space that is currently not being used). I can use personal investment to buy equipment or I can apply for a loan for purchases.
Business Plan
Given my business, Educator Wellness, I have no products to sell but rather a service. Personal Training is a different market because there is no one regulatory body for licensing (as with teaching OCT) there are organizations that offer certificates, canfitpro is one. In the next couple of weeks, I would like to start promoting my business to my network. I already have 2 potential clients, I am working to set a meeting with one to discuss training program and another is looking for nutrition guidance. I want to continue to market myself and gain 1-2 more clients.
Creative Advertising
Critique: The Major issue for me with this advertising is the word choice and grammar. The entire advertising projects an unprofessional image. Cheap makes it sound like it’s not good quality. The sentence fragments make it sounded like a toddler wrote the advertising and I wouldn’t consider this a reliable company to complete the work I wanted.

I am in a unique position where I live, a small community of 1100 people. What is my local competition? My vision is to create a Wellness Community specifically for Educators. My business idea is unique, so direct competition is almost non-existent.
Other Competition:
Motivnation Health & Fitnesss. Strengths: Fitness classes, infrared saunas with light therapy, health services (juice bar, movement lab). Weaknesses: monthly membership rates, limited services for overall wellness, focus on physical wellness
Edutopia. Strengths: resources. Weaknesses: impersonal, educator needs to seek out for information.
ETFO. Strengths: all members have access to services, professional development, member support. Weaknesses: non-members do not have access, educator needs to seek out services, often reactive instead of proactive

Strength and Weakness
How important are your strengths and weaknesses to your employment or your business. Someone who has poor communication change would likely be unsuccessful in administration. A person who fears public speaking likely wouldn’t be a politician. On the reverse, someone who loves to learn would probably be a good teacher. A competitive person would probably be successful as sports coach. What skills can transfer to a business or entrepreneurship?
Everyone has strengths and weaknesses, as I embark on my learning to become an entrepreneur what are mine?
Strengths: Organization, communication, passion, willingness to learn, caring, motivated, ability to create, independent, leadership, strong work ethic, competitive (could also be a weakness depending on your view), goal oriented, planning
Weaknesses: Financial management, collaboration, flexibility, optimism, stress-management, team building, emotional (could also be a strength depending on your view), willingness to accept change, outgoing
It is important to consider both strengths and weakness when choosing an entrepreneurial venture to ensure your success. Most importantly, I believe, you must have passion and drive to be successful. Bonus, I have both so I think I can be successful. As for my weakness, my personal goal this year is to gain some financial literacy which I believe is one of my greatest weaknesses (do I really need that 13th pair of sneakers?). So, as I delve into the world of entrepreneurship I hope to grow my passion for fitness into a viable business, then maybe I can buy that 13th pair of sneakers without worry.
