It´s your birthday today and it makes me feel a bit teary.

I don´t know why, it shouldn´t, I don´t think about you that much anymore and I don´t feel upset by the fact that you never got back to me, in many ways it feels like a lucky escape, I don´t want to sit infront of you painfully going over everything I say out loud in my head and wondering how stupid I sound, I also don´t want to have pointless conversations with you about stuff neither of us really have any interest in. I don´t want to do to you what me and my tinder dates do to each other, why would you do that to someone you love.

I might not love real life you, I don´t really know, I don´t really care. I know I love pen and paper you, so very very much in a way that I kind of don´t want to dishonour or disturb by trying to introduce real life you into the mix.

but today is your birthday, and a part of me just really wishes I could tell you happy birthday. I really wish I could tell you that I love you more than words can say, I wish lots of lovely things will happen to you today. I hope things smell good, I hope you don´t get too cold, I hope you have nice conversations, I hope the stuff you eat tastes really good, I hope you laugh in a way that you can´t control and that fills you with warmth, I hope you feel loved and looked after, I hope you feel proud of yourself, I hope you get nice presents and I hope you feel excited about all the things you will do during the year you are 22.
